To Illia/01977, it may] concern Be it known that I, DAVID L. lvVooDs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Meadville, in the county of Crawford and State of Pennsylvania, ha-ve invented certain new and use ful Improvements in Post of which the following lis a specification.
My invention relates to cement fence post molds, and has for its object the provision of a device adapted to -mold fence posts in place, so that they do not need handling subsequent to the forming to provide a mold which does not require the withdrawal f removable pins or bolts in order to extricate the molded post.
Another object of my invention is to provide a 'mold which will form a wire fasten- Ling means permanently on the post.
A' further object is to provide a moldof the character described which will be cheap, durable, simple in operation, arid adapted for use by those unskilled in the art of cement molding. Other objects and advantages will be apparent in the .course of the followingdescription.

The operation of my device is as follows: A hole of suitable size and depthl is dug in 'lO- are placed in the tion of the mold isprocess, and also vwires l0 being Y nature in the the earth at the desired place,- 1s placed over it and held in the proper position by the removable braces as shown. The lower front or cover section 5 is closed and held by the clamps, and the securing wires holes 9, cement is then poured in and tamped until the lower secfilled. After the cement is set, the clamp sec. tions 7 are removed by withdrawing tl e pins 8, the doors at and 5 are opened, andthe mold is removed from the post. It will be observed that the wires l0 run' through the,
post, and the sides 2. These wires are intended to remain permanently in the post. Consequently it will be necessary that the holes 9 be considerably larger than the wires, in order that hen the mold is removed, the embedded in the post will pull out of thcl holes 9 and be-against the sides of the post as shown in Fig. 2. lHaving thus described my invention what I claim is z- A fence post mold comprising a back plate, side plates rigidly secured to said back plate and `having holes for the reception of short lengths of wire, a front portion made in two sections each hinged tothe same side plate, clamps encircling said mold, said clamps having fixed U-shaped portions encircling the body portion of the mold and removable U-shaped portions across the front of said mold and extending along the side portions until they connect with said fixed portions, one of said clamps being at the bott'omand one at the top of each of said front sections, said mold having braces 'at its corners to hold it 1n proper position,
and said mold being ofless dimenslons at its top, than at its bottom.
