. .--The medium employed is primarily designed to impregnate the paper and liquidate the securing paste, yet it is apparent thatthis operation will, at the same time,
destroy. all germ life contacted therewith,
and thus provide thoroughly cleaned, sanitary walls.
il lxperimentation has adduced, that steam under pressure is best suited for the purpose of impregnating the paper, its velocity being of such suliiciency to cause the steam to thoroughly saturate the paper and liquefy the securing paste, and at the same time destroy all germ life.
Other objects will appear as the description continues.
The above and other objects in view, my invention relates to such details of construction and in the arrangement and combination of parts, as will be hereinafter fully described and specifically pointed out in the appended claims. a
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings, wherein like characters designate like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:

ieferiing now more particularly to the drawings, wherein is shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, I have provided improved means generating steam and conducting the same to the ejecting nozzle. The upper extremity of the boiler is closed through the mediumof a cover 13,
the latter being securely fastened thereto through the medium of spaced rivets 1 1, as illustrated. A water glass 15 is supported upon the boiler inter'jaccnt its extremities, through the medium of the valve elements 16, a plurality of brace rods 17 also being includedfor assuring the rigidity of the structure. The water glass is used to determine the amount of water in the boiler, and therefore it will be recognized that its provision is absolutely essential.
With view of determining the pressure within the boiler, a pressure gage 18 is pro vided, thelatter having connection with the boiler through the medium of a vertical rod '19 and connecting joint 20, the latter being in screw threaded-engagement therewith, as clearly' shown. A second joint 21 is provided upon the cover, the latter connecting a safetyvalve 22, actuation of which is controlled by a pivoted lever 23 carrying an adjustable weight 24. This lever is provided in view of increasing and decreasingthe' weight upon the safety valve, thus allowing the same to be set at any degree desired.
Intel-posed between the sections 11 and secured directly beneath the bottom of the boiler, I have provided a burner 25, of the usual crude oil type, the latter being fed through the medium of a fuel pipe 26, which extends vertically above the boiler and is secured thereto through the medium of a bracket 27. A cut-ofi' valve 28 is provided in the pipe in proximity to the sections 11, in order that the supply of fuel in the boiler may be cut ofi or increased when desired. For feeding the fuel pipe, and consequently allowing the burner 25 to be lighted, a fuel reservoir 28 is provided on the upper end of the pipe, as shown, the same carrying the fuel desired.
After steam has been generated in the boiler, I find it desirable to provide suitable conducting means which are of such type as to eject the steam evenly upon the walls actedon and at the points desired. ,With this in view, I have provided upon the cap 13 of the boiler a, vertical pipe 29 having a valve 30 mounted interjaeent its extremity for the purpose of controlling the passage of steam therethrough. A flexible base 31 has connection with the upper extremity of the pipe 29, as at 32, the other end of the hose being secured, as shown at 33, to

The steam flowing through the pipefifl will heat the same to a considerably temperature and, in order to avoid injury to the operators hands, I have provided thereon hand grips 37 and 38, the first mentioned grip being secured fast thereto, as shown at 39, while the other grip is slid: able, in order to facilitate the. vertical oscillations of the nozzle.
In the operation of my invention, the burner is first lighted and allowed to burn until the steam within the boiler has reached a pressure of 40 or 45 degrees. The valve is now opened which will allow the steam to'escape through. the hose 3 1 to the tube the operator now grasps the hand grips in an obvious manner and guides the transverse tube 35 over thepaper acted on, consequently completely saturating the latter and liquefying the securing paste. After the paper has beenthoroughly saturated the operator', takes holdof one end thereof and it will, Without the material exertionof any pressure, fall from the wall.
The advantages resultant from the use of my invention are thought to be readily comprehended by those conversant with the crude and unsatisfac tory devices heretofore provided in this artt};

Having thus described my invention gyhat I claimfla's new and desire to secure 'by Letters Patent, 1s:
A wall paper remover including a tubular rod forming a handle, "a. T-coupling carried by the; free end portion of said rod,
pipes carried' by said coupling and pro-- vided with longitudinally extending rows of openings constituting outlets, and means for closing the ends of said pipes.
2. A wall paper rempver including a tubular rod forming a liandle, and a perforated cross pipe connected with said handle and forming an applying "nozzle.
