' Application filed April 29, 1915. Serial No. 243%? T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, id/murmur F. Der WILER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Tarentum, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in. Trolley strain ball insulators and eye-bolts with in termediate spacing or stationary supports on which the wire rests and by which. the wire is soon worn to the point of breaking. This manner of suspending the Wires has been very unsatisfactory and it is the objectof this invention to overcome the said defect thereof.
Referring to the accompanying drawing, Figure l is a side elevation of a trolleywire support embodying my invention, the trolley-wire being shown in section and the trolley-wheel and a portion of the trolleypole being shown in elevation. Fig. 2 is a side elevation like Fig. 1 but with the parts in a difi'erent position and the trolley-wheel and pole omitted. Fig. 3 is a plan view of Fig. 2 with parts broken away. lTi l is a plan of modification of the outer en of the wire-supporting arm; and Fig. 5, a side view thereof.
On the drawing, 1 designates a bracket which may be secured to the side or end of a building, or to a crane girder, or any other suitable support. The front side of the bracket has a pair of ears 2 between which one end of the arm 3, composed preferably of metal, either stamped or cast, is pivo-tally mounted, d being a pivot pin passed through the said ears and the end of the arm.

trolley car runs. By causing the bolt to project the proper distance between the lug 5 and the stop 7, the outer end of the arm may be adjusted vertically as desired, to keep the trolley-wire in alinement, or for any other purpose.
The outer end of the arm is forked, or has the vertical open-ended slot 8 to receive the shank of the trolley-Wire suspending link or bolt 9, having the head 10 in the form of a cross-bar resting on the top surface of the arm 3. The said surface is slightly recessed on a curved line, as shown at 11, to provide a bearing on which the head 10 can freely rock and slide, the lower face or the head 10 being correspondingly rounded. A pin 12 is passed. through the outer end of the arm, that is, through the fork, beyond the suspending link 9 to prevent the latter from accidental escape from the slot or 'fOI'kr The slot 8 is Wide enough to permit the shank of the link to pass into it by lateral movement, whereby the link can be quickly removed for the renewal of parts carried by the link.
The suspending link 9 contains between its ends the insulator 13 of any approved design. The lower end of the link 9 hasthe head M- which supports the clamping jaws 15 which engage opposite sides of the trolley-wire l6 and hold it between the same.
17 represents the trolley-Wheel carried by the trolley-pole 18, of which only a part is shown.
Instead of having the outer end of the arm, 3 slotted, it may have a series of vertical' holes 19, in one of which the bolt 20 may be placed. This bolt takes the place of the upper part of the link 9 and has the nut or head 21 on the upper end in place of the head 10. By using the arm 3 with the holes 19 I can regulate the horizontal position of the trolley wire 16 so that it may be directly over the'trolley Wheel 17. i
It will be understood, of course, that in practice a series of my devices will be arranged along the trolley-wire to support the latter at suitable intervals.

2. In a suspending conductors, a bracket, an arm pivoted thereto, a set-screw arranged to engage the bracket to adjust the elevation of the outer end of the arm, and means for suspending an electrical conductor on the said end of the arm.

In a suspending device for electrical conductors, an arm pivotally supported at one end, an electrical conductor extending transversely of the arm, and a suspending link for the conductor, mounted at the other end of the arm so as to swing transversely of the conductor, and supporting between its ends an electrical insulator.
4. In a suspending device for electrical conductors, an electrical conductor, a pivotally-mounted arm having one end with a. fork, a suspending link adapted to pass into the fork by lateral movement, means for device for electrical supporting the link on the fork, and means for connecting the link to the conductor.
