MASSAGE GLOVE.
APPLICATION FILED JAN.13. m5.

M d/4 ,11 William RNorfon A TTOR/VEYS WILLIAM R. NORTON, 0F HIGHTSTOWN, NEW JERSEY.
MASSAGE-GLOVE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 23, 31915.
Application filed January 13, 1915. Serial N 0. 1,956.
T 0 all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, WILLIAM R. NORTON, a citizen of the United States, and a resident ofHightstown, in the county of Mercer and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Massage-Glove, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to massage gloves having a receptacle or-receptacles adapted to accommodate a substance or substances employed during the massage with the glove.
The object of the invention is to provide a simple and inexpensive glove having one or more receptacles associated therewith, which receptacles are elastic and which can be easily filled with a desired substance and from which the substance can be easily fed and the feed easily controlled by the party Wearing the glove.
With the above and other objects in view, the nature of which -will more fully appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as herein fully described, illustrated and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of the application, similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both the views, and Figure 1 is an elevation of a glove embodying my invention; and
Fig. 2 is a section through a finger thereof on line 2-2, Fig. 1.
Before proceeding to a more detailed description of my invention it must be clearly understood that although each finger of the glove in Fig. 1 is provided with a receptacle for a tonic, or similar substance used in massage, only one of the fingers or the palm of the glove may be provided with such a receptacle, also, if desired, only a finger tip can be used for that purpose, that is, a single finger tip may be provided with a receptacle such as shown.
Referring to the drawings, 3 represents a glove each finger 4 of which has on the working side of the tip thereof a receptacle 5 which is made of rubberized material so that the same can be compressed and when released will expand to its natural form. The top of the resilient compartment is provided with perforations 6 through which the tonic is admitted into the receptacle by compressing the receptacle and then causing the atmospheric pressure to force the substance thereinto while the receptacle expands to its normal form. The tonic can be forced out of the receptacle by simply compressing the bottom wall which forms part of the glove, that is, the portion 7' of the glove. The receptacle top has also projections 8 thereon whereby the apertures are always above the surface massaged, consequently there is no interference with the feed of the tonic from the receptacles, nor can there be when the tonic is sucked into the receptacle.
It is self-evident that with a glove as illustrated, each of the'receptacles 5 may receive the same tonic or different tonics. Furthermore, the entire glove can be made of rubberized materialor only the receptacle part thereof.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. In a glove, one or more elastic receptacles located on the Working side thereof, the receptacle having openings on the working side thereof, said openings being depressed from the working surface.
2. In aglove, a finger having an elastic receptacle on the working tip thereof, projections on the working surface of said receptacle, saidreceptacle having openings -in the working surface whereby said receptacle can be filled with a substance and the substance fed therefrom by the compression of said receptacle.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILLIAM BARDEL,
E. 'HUTcHmsoN.
