Be it known that I, CHARLES G. SUMMERS, J12, a citizen of the United States, residing .at Baltimore, in the State of Maryland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sample-Cans, of which the following is a specification. This invention relates to improvised sample cans and has for itsobject to provide an improved sample package of canned goods such as fruits and vegetables.

The object of the invention is to provide an exterior inclosing sheet-metal can of conventional size and shape for the canned and label, whereby while a full sized can and label areused the quantity of food material required for a samplemay be reduced to a quantity much less than the full sized can will hold.

With these and other objects-in view the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing wherein,

A packing or cushion, 12, may, and preferably is placed on the bottom of the can-' body so as to form a cushion for the jar or receptacle to seat upon.

The top end or head, 2, of the can may be soldered in place or not as desired.

An improvised sample can such as herein set forth materially aids a salesman in the disposal of canned oods because it displays the article both as to full sized and external appearance and the color, etc. of its internal contents thereby enabling a purchaser to form a judgment as to the commercial value and salability of the goods offered.
