To all whom it may concern;

Be it known that I, WILLIAM F. SCHNELL- HARDT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Seattle, in the county of King and State of Washington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game- Boards; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to game boards, and one of the principal objects of the invention is to providea game board and accessories for the purpose of playing a game which will closely resemble the ordinary game of base-ball, and in which much will depend upon the knowledge of the base-ball game on the part of the player, as well as considerable skill in playing the game.

The foregoing and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawing, v in which,

Referring to the drawing, the numeral 1 designates a board of the required size for a base-ball diamond 2 printed or otherwise produced thereon, and 3 is a wall or fence which surrounds the sides and back of the board 1, while the front portion of the board is plain and without a wall. The diamond 2 is provided with a home plate 4:, or a representation thereof, and a first base 5, a second base 6, and a third base 7. Represented upon the board is a series of round black spots 8, for a purpose which will hereinafter appear, and in the outfield is a number of circular black spots 9 and 10 and 11.

Placed upon the red spots 8 are a number of red checkers, one checker covering each spot, there being nine in all, and these checkers represent the players at the bases and in the fields. The white checkers 9 may be indicated as QBH, meaning ,a two base hit, while the checker 10 is indicated as 3BH or a three base hit, while the checker 11 is indicated as a home run.

In playing the game, a black checker is placed on the home plate 4, and another checker of the same color and of substantially the same size, indicated as 12 in Fig. 1 is snapped with the finger against the checker a, and said checker is driven out past the diamond into the field and if this checker should land clear of any of the men without hitting them and remain in the field he would be entitled to a base hit. If the checker a should hit any of the men 8, he is put out, While if the checker hits either of the checkers 9 he is entitled to a two base hit. If the checker 8 should hit the man 10 he would be entitled to a three base hit and if he hits the man 11, he should be entitled to a home run.

Two players may play the game, one removing the checkers as the men are put off and replacing the checkers upon the spots. When three men are put out the side is put out and the other party starts the batting game and flips the checker 12 with his finger to drive out the checker a into the field. If the checker a remains in the diamond, the party is out and if he passes out of the diamond into the field he is entitled to a base hit.

The game is so simple that further explanation Will not be needed, only a fair knowledge of the base ball game being required.

From the foregoing it will be obvious that a game board and accessories made in accordance with this invention is of extremely simple construction, and will simulate the game of base-ball perfectly, will require considerable skill on the part of the player as well as to provide a very amusing game for persons fond of the game of base-ball.

Various changes may be made in the details of construction without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as de fined in the claim.

What is claimed is The herein described game board having a marginal wall secured to both sides and back thereof and an open front, a diamond represented upon said board, a number of spots outside the diamond produced in red, red checkers to cover said spots, a series of White spots in the outer field of said board having indicating marks of certain features of the play to be covered by White checkers, and an operating checker to be flipped by the finger of he player to contact with a checker representing the baseball to be driven out into the field for counting.
