To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, AUGUST R. Rmcna, a citizen of the United States of America and a resident of Chicago, in the county of ook, State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Safety-Razors, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates more particularly to that class of safety razors in which-the cutting edge of the razor blade has adjustment to and from the corresponding edge of the, guard shield. And the present improvement has for its various objects: To provide a simple and durable structural formation and association of parts, wherein the cutting edge of the razor blade is made adjustable to and from its guard member in an accurate and ready manner. Andto provide a simple and eflicient construction and combination of parts whereby the razor blade is secured to'the stock in a substantial yet readily detachable manner, all as will hereinafter more fully appear..

In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1, is a perspective view of the present safety razor parts in an assembled condition. Fig. 2, is a like view of the stock and adjusting screw in a detached condition. Fig. 3, is a back perspective view of the stock. Figs. 4 land 5, are companion sectional elevations, illustrating the parts in their respective close and wide-apart adjustment of the cutting edge of the razor blade to the guard rim of the stock.

Similar reference numerals indicate like parts in the several views.

Referring to the drawings, 1 represents the usual handle or stem to which the stock 2 of the safety razor is detachably secured in any usual and suitable manner.

In the present improvement the stock 2 is formed of a piece or blank of resilient plate metal or the. like, bent upon itself to form a rounded back 3, and a pair of flat webs 4, 5, inclined toward each other and normally meeting at their free and forward ends as shown. The upper web 4 affords support for the flat razor blade 6, and to this end is. provided with hook-shaped ears or lugs 7 at its respective free corners, and preferably extending beyond said corners as shown. The sharp corner edges of the razor blade 6 have engagement in the re cesses of the ears or lugs 7, as shown in ig. 1, and are detachably held in place by the spring finger or clip hereinafter de scribed. The lower web 5, aforesaid has a curved or rounded lip 5' at its'free edge, to constitute the usual safety guard orshield for the cutting edge of the razor blade 6.

With the described construction, the secure holdingof the razor blade 'is attained, and at the same time, its ready removal and replacement can be quickly and conveniently effected. v v
