i'ul Improvements in Rotary Piston-Pumps; and I do herebyldeclare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description oifthe invention, such as will enable others, skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the acconipanying drawings, and to letters orfig-r uresof reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification. h p This invention relates to piston pumps having cylinders diametrically disposed in a rotary shell wherein a relative reciprocating movement between the cylinders and pistons is obtained by rotating the shell on an axis displaced from the axis about whlch thepistons are rotated. l l
The object of the invention is to provide a pump of this kind wherein a series of diametrically disposed pistons and cylinders may be arranged along the axis of the r0- tary shell, especially with the idea of using the apparatus as a central plunger lubricator. This is attained by the construction disclosed herein, reference being had to t he accompanying drawings in which, 7
Figure 1 represents a radial cross section of a rotary pump of this kind, takenon line 1-1 of Fig. 2; and Fig; 2 represents a central vertical section through the pump of Fig. 1. I l .1
In the embodiment shown 1n the drawings, the plstons'a are lnserted 1n andfastoned to the shaft 42, which is provided with a slotted crank-guide f at each of its ends,
embracing a rotar guide head POne of, the guide heads carries a ournal mounted in the end wall of the tank 9, while the other guide head is a part ofthe driving shaft h. The shell 0 carries the diametrically disposed cylinders t and is fitted in the casing Z) which is integral with the-surrounding oil tank 9. The axis about which the shaft (Z is rotated is parallel to but displaced from the axis of rotation of the shell c. The shaft 72, drives the shaft (Z and the p'istons a pull the shell 0' around in the casing Z), reciproeating movements between the pistons a and the cylinders 25 being produced as a result of thedisplaced disposition of the axes of rotation. The arrangement provides for the necessary relative slidingmovements of the f ing: outlets, 7:.

Having thus described my invention, what I claimis-z- I 1 1. In rotary piston pumps, a pump cyhn der rotatable about a transverse axis, a p ston rotatable about a transverse axis eccentric relatively to the axis of rotation of the cylinder and reciprocative therein during rotation, and driving means for rotating the cylinder and piston onsaid axes.
2. In rotary piston pumps, a pump cylin Y der rotatable abouta transverse axis, a piston rotatable about a transverse axis eccentric relatively to the axis of rotation of the cyhnder and rec1procat1ve therein during rotation, and driving means for rotating the I cylinder and piston on said axes and including a sliding connection compensating for the eccentricity of said axes.
8. In rotary piston pumps, a pump oylinder rotatable about a transverse axis,
eccentric relatively to the axis ofrotation of the pump. cylinder and reciprocative therein during rotation, and drivingmeans for rotating the cylinder and piston on said axes and including a crank-guide and agguide head slidable therealongtransversely of the.
respective cylinders and having a crank guide at each end, a guide-head for each crank-guide slidable therealong transversely oi the pistons and journaled for rotation on an axis eccentric tothe axis of rotation of the shell, and driving means for rotating the shell and shaft. 7
5. In rotary piston pumps, a tank, a cylina pisder fastenedto tiieiiank, a shellrotatablein f 1 ';-the cylinder and carrying a plurality of dia-- metricallydisposed-pump cylinders, arota-' v 'table shaft carrying a plurality of pistons 5- reciprocative in respective pump cylinders j ""'and 'having a crank5guide at each end, a
