Detachably secured to each corner of the table 1 by means of a strap 11 and bolts 12 is an angleiron 13, provided with a vertical portion 14, and an inwardly bent horizontal portion 15, said horizontal portion extending over the grinding disk and having its inner end enlarged as at 16 and bitui-rated. Pivoted between the prongs of the bifurcated end portion by means of lugs 1T borne in pertorations in said prongs is a collar 18, slidably maintaining in position a cylindrical spring easing 1f), said Casing having its upper end closed and provided centrally of the closed portion with a perforation, through which extends a pivot pin 20, having its lower end beveled to a point 21. Near its lower end, the pin is provided with an enlarged portion 22 which its the inside ot' the spring casing and is adapted to slide therein. A coiled spring 23 surrounds the pin above the enlargement 22 and bears at one end against said enlargement and at the opposite end against the closure at the top ot' the spring casino. Secured in any desired manner in the top of the spring casing, such as by being seated in a slot therein. isan upright resilient member 24 semi circular in cross section, said member being quite close to the pin 2O but not touching it, and being provided near its upper end with a pair of oppositely disposed notches adapted to engage a cross pin 2f seated in a` perforation of the pivot pin 2() a little above the spring casing li). lt will be understood that normally the pin 2() is presseddownwardly by action of the spring 22-3, but at 'times it is desirous to maintain this pin in a. raised position as will be explained hereinafter, and it is at such times that the rross pin is engaged by the notches. A set screw 2G seated in a screw threaded perforation in the front of the collar 18, is adapted to hold the spring casing 19 in position.
