Constructively my device, as disclosed in the accompanying drawing, involves a suitable base. portion 1, which I intend constructing out of some bright reflecting ma- 4 terial, such as copper, brass, or nickel, said base being of suitable configuration, and supported on-legs 2. tion of a deflecting means, while above this latter described portion, and suitably spaced-apart therefrom, is a second hollow cone-shaped member 7 of somewhat less diameter than the said member 6, also supported by the column 3. The flame will be deflected outward toward the side walls of the dome by the memher 6 the heat or products of combustion passing upward through the space 14, thence into the communicating space 15 between the two members 6 and 7, then into the compartment 12 through the apertures 8, in which compartment ,the carbon or other foreign jacent to the upper section or apex of the dome between the entrance and exit apertures, which baflle tends to aid in the deposit of carbon or other elements held in suspen-' sion in the fuel gas and air.
It will be apparent that my form of heater affords the maximum of radiating area in that the dome and deflecting member will give off heat in all directions, due to the open formation of the device, and in addition the base portion 1 will likewise become heated and give off its proportion of radiation.
The clip members 11 carried by the dome, cooperating with the roof of said dome and flanged upper portion of the inner cone, affords a ready means for removably looking said dome in position, from whence it can be quickly disengaged should it be necessary to uncover the inner compartment for cleaning purposes.
WVhat I claim as my invention is 1. A heating appliance having a suitable base; a hollow column rising above the base, said column acting as a conducting means for the fuel supply; a burner carried by the column in communication wit-h the fuel supply means; a hollow inverted cone-shaped deflecting member above the burner; a sec ond hollow inverted cone-shaped member interior of and spaced-apartfrom the said defleeting member, the walls of which are perforated; a dome supported by the inner disposed cone, the apex of said dome being perforated and forming a hollow cap portion which, taken in conjunction with the said inner cone, forms an inner compartment; and means carried by the dome for removably securing said dome in position.
2. A heating appliance having a suitable base; a hollow column rising above the base, said column acting as a conducting means for the fuel supply; a burner carried by the column in communication with the fuel supply means; a hollow inverted cone-shaped deflecting member above the burner; a second hollow inverted cone-shaped member interior of and spaced-apart from the said deflecting member, the walls of which are perforated; an inclosing dome supported by the inner disposed cone, the apex of said dome being perforated and forming a hollow cap portion, which, taken in conjunction with the said inner cone, forms an inner compartment; and clip members carried by the dome for removably locking said dome to the said inner cone.

A heating appliance having a suitable base; a hollow column rising above the base, said column acting as a conducting means for the fuel supply; a burner carried by the column in communication with the fuel supply means; a hollow inverted cone-shaped deflecting member above the burner; a second hollow inverted cone-shaped member interior of and spaced-apart from the said deflecting member, having perforated walls column in communication with the fuel supported by the inner disposed cone, the apex of said dome being perforated and forming a hollow cap portion, which, taken in con.- junction with the said inner cone, forms an inner compartment; clip members carried by the dome for engagement with the flanged portion of the inner cone for removably locking said dome in position; and a screen interior of the said inner compartment removably held in position by the said clips.
