CLEANING AND POLISHING COMPOSITION.
No Drawing.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, GEORGE H. KEITH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Satsop, in the county of Chehalis and State of Washington, have invented a new and useful Cleaning and Polishing Composition, of Which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to improvements in cleaning and polishing'composition.
' The object of the present invention is to provide a composition designed particularly for use on automobiles andvarious other vehicles for cleaning andpolishing painted ,or varnished "surfaces, and adapted to effect an easy removaloo'f 'diraand apply a thin coating or film of Wax to such Ysurfaces 'for enabling the same to be polished and brightened.
The composition consists of the following ingredients, combined in the proportions 1 stated, viz
Pure beeswax Sdrams, Gasolene -5. 1' quart.
The beeswax is allowed to dissolve in the gasolene for a period of about a week, and
the mixture should be Well shaken. This is sufficient to cause the beeswax to become thoroughly dissolved, and the cleaning and polishing composition, which is in the form of a liquid, is applied by means of a sponge composition is applied and the operating as acleaning agent.
Specification of Letters Batent. Patented July 13, 1915, Application filed March 10, 1914. Serial no. 823,813.
i as a cleaning element in removingdirt from the surface, and leaving the surface coated with a thin filmof beeswax, The thin film or coating of beeswax-operates as a polishing agent, and the coated surface is rubbed down and polished with a soft cloth. The cleaning and polishing fluid,j,When applied to a painted or"varnished surface in this.
manner, results in a highly polished surface, which is free from dirt.
What is claimed is 1. The herein described liquidcomposition for cleaning andpolishing painted and varnished surfaces consisting of; gasolene and beeswax combinedin substantially the proportions stated, the beeswax being completely dissolved in the gasolene in sufficient quantity to leave a thin polishing film or coating on the surface to'which the liquid gasolene 2. ,The hereindescribed liquid composition for cleaning and polishing, painted and .varnished surfaces consisting} of gasolene, one quart, and beesivax, five drams, dlssolved in the gas'olcneso that when the composition is appliedto'such a surface, the gasolene w ll evaporate and "leave a thin film or coating of V R 65 wax on the said surfa.ce. 771 In testimon gthat I claim the foregoing as m'yowmi. have hereto affixed my signa-' {'ture in the presence of twowitnesses.
