The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CALVIN SHAW, of Milledgeville, county of Mercer, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and improved Sled-Knee and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description of the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon.

Figure 2 represents my sled-knee. It is constructed of iron.

13 B are two bolts that pass through two flanges on the top of the knee and thesled-rail O 0,- Figure 4.

The bottom of the knee has a foot or flange which sits on the runner, and is bolted thereto by the bolts 0 O. e

The upper part or end of the knee has a semiciri cuiar cavity, R, in which the end of the beam S rests.

.On the under side of the beam S is a bar of iron, E

E, Figure 1, with two notches, F B, one at each end.

These notches rest on the top of the knee in the cavity 1t, and when the whole is bolted to the runners, the rails, and the beams in the manner described, it forms a very strong sled-knee and sled-bench. The bar of iron E E is bolted to the beam S S.

\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is as follows. to wit:

The knee A, fig. 2, constructed as described, in combination with the iron bar E E, and beams SS, constructed as described, for the purposes set forth.
