I1. RATHJEN, OI PORTLAND, OREGON. I
NURSING-BOTTLE HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed August 11, 1914. Serial No. 856,264.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that'I, WILLIAM L. RATHJEN,
residing at Portland, in the coimty of Multnomah and State of Oregon, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in.
Nursing-Bottle Holders; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to nursing bottle holders, and one ofthe principal objects of the invention is to provide a simple device for supporting a nursing bottle in position on a baby carriage, on a high. chair, in bed or in the cradle, said holder or'support permitting the bottle to be moved in any direction to be readily accessible by the baby, and which can be swung out of the way when not required for use.
Another object of the invention is to provide a support or holder for a nursing bottle jointed at two points and provided with a spring so that the bottle may be moved in any direction to accommodate the nursing child and to be moved out of the way when not required for use.
The foregoing and otherobjects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which,
Figure 1 is a side elevationof a nursing bottle holder made in accordance with this invention, and the nursing bottle being shown in two positions, one in full lines, and the other in dotted lines, and Fig. 2 is a top lan view of the holding deviceshowing the bottle in section.
' Referring to the drawing, the numeral 1 designates an arm having one end offset as at 2 and roughened upon its innerface as at 3. The other member of the clamp 4: is provided with a roughened face 5 and is connected to the arm 1 by means of a rivet 6 while a screw 7 extends through both members and is provided with a winged nut 8 for clamping the two roughened surfaces 3 and 5 against a suitable support, like a portion of a baby carriage chair or bed.
The arm 1 is provided with an angular bent portion 10, and pivotally connected at 11 to the angular portion 10 is a link or arm 12., at the outer end of which is an offset portion 13 and pivotally connected to th outer end of the'oflset portion is a spring 14 which is pivoted upon a rivet or pin 15.
Patented June 8, 1915.
9 or upon a high The spring 14 clamps a bottle 16 of the desired sige and holds it in place firmly supported upon the pivotal point 15.
From the foregoing it will be obvious that a nursing bottle holder made in accordance with this invention can be utilized for holding the nursing bottle supported upon a member of a baby carriage, upon a high chair, or cradle or other supporting device,
that the bottle can be swung in various di rections upon the pivotal point 11 and upon the pivot 15.
Slight changes may be-made in the details of construction without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claim.
What is claimed is j A nursing bottle holder comprising a clamp for securing the holder upon asuitable support, one of the jaws of said clamp ha'ving 'an extended arm, said arm having an angular portion, a supporting arm "PIV- oted to said angular portion, a split ring clasp pivoted to the free end of said sup porting arm, the free end ofsaid clasp extending to a point beyond the pivot thereby
