Arranged within the sockets arecoinpressible coil sprinlgs 36, which engage the plates4 or disks 27. t is kthus-seen that the springs 36 will yieldingly hold the plates or disks 2'! in engagement with the plates 19, whereby'whein snliicient force is l applied to'tlie hinge ele Anient or part 18 the same may be angularly adjusted with relation to the element or part il7and locked in adjustment at desired angular'positions with relation thereto, by the ribs or-lugs 25 fitting. within the openings or `recesses 30. The sleeve 29has its contiguous edges provided with a tongue and groove y or dovevtail joint 37. Tlic sleeve 29, arms 28, and plates or disks27v are preferably formed ififom a single section of suitably sti sheet -metah which isl vstamped into the desired shpe and subsequently bent to ornithe di erentelements. y y
The handle l5, which may be of any well vlfuiown or preferred construetio'n, has one vend arranged Within the sleeve 29 and is provided with a thread groeve 39 adjacent the lower. end thereof. This thread groove reeeivesa thread eif? formed upon the inner of the sleeve 29, by bending 'the material of the saine inwardly.' it is thus seen that simple and reliable means are f the coacting plates 19 and disks 2 provided with the locking ribs and recesses. By having the handle thus angularly adjustably connected with the mop head, the latter may be conveniently manipulated within ordinarily inconvenient or inaccessible quarters,
such as Within corners, under radiators, furniture or the like, It has been found particularly useful to angularly adjustably conneet the handle to one corner or apex of the triangular mop head, owing to the highly convenient manner in which the entire appa,- ratus may belused.
It is to be understood that the invention herewith shown and described is fto be taken as a preferred example of the "85 forni ofmy same, and that various' changes in the shape,
size and arrangement of parts maybe 17e-f sorted to Without departing from the spirit f of the invention or the scope of the subjoined claims.
