This invention relates to an improvement in the construction of holders for checks or markers, for the use of fruitigatherexs.

It consists of a box provided with a hinged top and side, andv with a number' of vertical fingers springing from a bar in its bottom and entering perforations in the top lid, whose oihce is to hold markers, which are suitably inscribed, and also, preferably, varied in form, to indicate pints, quarts, or other denominations'of dry measure, as hereinafter more fully set forth.

The lingers c extend into orifices in thc box cover, so as to prevent the. checks from being removed, except when the box-cover is open, even though the side of the box be turned down.

By providing a side cover or` door, the checks may be conveniently reached, andthe bar b also more conveniently-removed or adjusted, when it is desired to insert another similar bar. But the checks may be counted without removing them from the fingers by opening the lid only.

I am aware that holders for spools have been.

invented, which are provided with fingers on which the'spools revolve, but my invention pertains to a. different construction.

Having thus described my invention, What I claim as new, and desire toV secure by Letters VPatent, is

,The improved fruit-check holder, consisting of the box A, provided with the perforated lid, the hinged side, the bar b, and the fingers c, all constructed and arranged as shown and described, for the purpose specified.
