To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Win-innit ZOLPER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Wilmin ton, in the county of New Castle,

State 01 Delaware, have invented a new and useful Puzzle, of which the following is a. specification.

My invention consists of a game comprising a field, bases of different colors thereon disposed in cross form, pockets in said bases, a starting place, and spinning tops of different colors similar to those of the bases, so that by operating the tops and manipulating the field in the hand of the player, a top may be pocketed on a base of the same color, and eventually producing a cross shaped figure of the tops, the goal of the game being the deposit of the tops in their places to complete said cross shaped figure in a number of consecutive spins equal to that of the tops, in the present case, six in number.

It consists further of a devious course on the field which it is designed to have a spinner traverse so as to reach a goal which will be of difiicult nature, and so cause the exercise of much skill and patience to accomplish.

The invention is satisfactorily illustrated in the accompanying drawing, but the important instrumentalities thereof may be varied, and so it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the specific details shown and described.

Figures 1 and 2 represent plan views of a game embodying my invention, the spinners being in different places in the two figures. Fig. 3 is a section of a portion on the line :v-m Fig. 2.

Similar numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts in the figures.

Referring to the drawings 2-1 designates the field of the game, the same being composed of a fiat piece of card-board. pasteboard or other suitable material and having therein the series of openings forming the pockets 2 disposed in the order of a cross. Around the pockets of the cross are the bases 3 which in the present case are respectively, red, white and blue.

blue, and 5 and 6 designate what I denominate as starting places, the same in the present case being of the form ofstars. Extend ing from the place 6 is the course line 7 which is formed on the field 1 and passes around certain of the bases 3, then between adjacent bases, and then entirely around one of the central bases, crossing at 8, and finally reaching the top base as at 9.

The operation is as follows :The player holding the field in his hand takes oneof the tops and starting at the place 5 spins it on the field and then manipulates said field, whereby the top is directed to one of the bases of the same color as said top and guides it to the pocket thereof. so as to drop the bottom peg or point of the top into the latter. Then he proceeds with the other tops. when if he succeeds. he will eventually pocket all of the tops on the bases of the same color, which is the goal of the game and counts so much for him. the failure to accompl sh which counts against him. patience. and a steadv hand to accomplish the result. and so causing the game to be amusing and entertaining in its nature.

Having thus described bv invention what I cla m as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent. is:

' 1. A game composed of a field. bases thereon. and pocket-openings in the field at sa d bases. said bases being of different colors, and spinning tops of different colors having their pe s adapted to be placed in the openings of bases of corresponding colors. said bases being disposed on the field of the form of a cross-shaped figure.

2. A game composed of a field, bases thereon, pockets in the field, said bases being of'different colors, spinning tops of different colors adapted to be placed in said pockets, and a devious course 11116 on said I field extending around the pockets from a starting point to one of said pockets.
