Description

P. MAUSEB.
v BOX MAGAZINE FOR FIREARMS- APPLICATION IILBD NOV,24,'1913.
. 1,129,3 4, Patent ed Mar.2,1915.
' Attorney.
f "onirnn sT T s PATENT OFFICE.
PAUL MAUSER, F OBERNDOBF-OlV-THE-NECKAR, GERMANY.
f nox-mnoazmn ron rmmnmsf I To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PAUL MAUSER, subject of the King of Wurttemberg, residing at Oberndorf-on-the-Neckar, in the Kingdom of Wurttemberg, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Box-Magazines for Firearms, of which the following is a specification. I
' The invention relates to acartridge magazine for a istol and resides broadly in the fact that t e front portion of the bottom...
plate is guided by the lateral ribs of the magazine'and constitutes a resilient locking means, which, in the closed position, is disposed in front of the correspondingly ormed guiding ribs.
" In the drawing an embodiment of the invention is shown by way of example.
Figures 1 and 2 show synoptically the lower portion of the pistol magazine constructed in accordance with the invention, with two difierent positions of the bottom plate. Figs. 3 and 4 are bottom views of the bottom plate and oi the magazine without the latter. Fig. 5 is a longitudinal sectilon through the magazine with the bottom p ate.
The magazine a is provided'at the lower edge, with ribs 6 in known manner, on which the bottom plate 0 is guided by the edges of the bottom plate overlapping the ribs. The front orti'on of the bottom plate is formed as a shaped portion 0 by two lateral angular'cuts, and is connected to the Specification of Letters Patent.
remainder of the plate by a resilient tongue 0 This portion 0 is provided with lateral Patented Mar. 2*,1915.
Application filed November 24, 1913, Serial No. 802,763.
flaps a? (Fig. 3) which when the bottom plate is slid over the magazine, slide on the latters guiding ribs (Fig. -1) and as soon as the said plate is in place, drop in behind suitably formed ribs 6 (Fig. 2). The bottom plate is thus securely retained on the ,magazine and can only be separated therefrom by raising the locking portion 0 and simultaneously withdrawing the bottom plate.
Owing to the fact that according to the invention the lockin means is formed by the bottom late itse f a substantial simplification is e ected over known constructions in which separate locking means were fixed on the bottom plate.
What I claim as my mventionand desire to secure by patent is:
A' cartridge magazine for firearms comprising a magazine body having lateral ribs, a bottom plate lateral fla s on said bottom plate, said flaps, in the loc position, engagmg openings in said ribs and thus holding said bottom plate -on said magazinebody.
ided on said ribs and In testimony whereof I have afiixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
a MAUSER.
