The further object of my invention is to provide a novel means for supporting and for .holding the trough in position, the
means for holding the trough in connection with the supporting means being. detachable from said supporting means.

In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 v is a plan view of my improved feed trough. Fig- 2 is a vertical transverse section through the trough as taken on the line of section of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a view in perspective ofone of the detachable trough clamps. Fig. t is a detail view in perspective of a trough corner, partially fragmentary, illustrating the construction of said corner.
The trough supporting means may be suitably secured to a flooring .or base, which hashere shown spaced base-bars 5 to which thesupporting means are attached.
The trough supporting means are in theform of metal strips bent in loop form to form a base portion, a trough receiving portion and side portions with which fastening devices'arc adapted to cooperate to retain a trough in position in said trough receiving portion. These strips 6 span the base bars transversely, are bent in irregular loop form with each end portion being joined in a base 7, the base being bolted to the base-bars at 8, the center and upper portion of the strip being depressed forming a downwardly converging trough receiving portion 9, the bottom of said trough receiving portion being riveted at 10 to the base 7, and the sides 11 of the looped strip serve as struts or braces for said trough receiving portion and also by their openings 12 as part of a fastening means by which a trough is locked in position in said trough receiving portion. These looped supports may be spaced suitably upon a base, in a necessary number, according to the length of the trough.
The trough is formed of sheet metal, has
a bottom 13, bent up sides 14: which conform to the taper of the trough receiving portion 9, and said bottom and sides have segment end-flaps 15 to which are riveted trough ends 16. The trough sides 1% have tops 17 which are turned downwardly at their outer sides and then back upon themselves forming depending rims 18, and likewise have the ends 16. The ends of tops 17 are lapped one over the other at the corners of the trough, the top-end 19 of a trough end 16 overlapping the top-end 20 of a trough side 14, and the overlapped portions,
are riveted at 21. Since therims 18 do not overlap at the ends, L-shaped corners 22 are located with one wing intermediate the turned under portions of each rim, they being secured in-this position during the forming and turning under of the rim 18.
Clamping members of U-shape construction have the head 23 of the U-construction adapted to span the trough tops 17, and have arms 2-1 depending serving as spring arms, these arms having hooked ends 25 which locate in openings 12 in the brace portions 11. The hooked ends 25 of the clamping member are of a distance apart less than the distance between two opposite openings 12, and these arms 21 may be forced yieldingly apart, so that their ends 25 may engage in openings 12, thereby holding the trough fixed with the support. To remove the clamping member any suitable rigid article or tool may be inserted intermediate an arm 24 and side 11 to spring the hooked end of arm 24 from its catch.
