ALBERT B. COSAID AND CHARLES F. WISE, OF OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA.
DENTAL SALIVA-TUBE.
Application filed August 20, 1913.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, ALBERT B. CosAD and CHARLES F. lVIsE, citizens of the United States, residing at Oakland, in the county of Alameda and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dental Saliva-Tubes, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in dental saliva ejectors and has for its principal object the construction of an inexpensive device of the character named, so that a new tube may be used for each pa.- tient. In this manner a perfect sanitation is secured without excessive cost.
Another object is to provide means for strengthening the walls of the tube longitudinally thereof.
With these and other objects in view as hereinafter set forth, our invention consists in the novel construction as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and as more particularly pointed out in the appended claim.
In the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification like numerals denote the same parts in the several views, and Figure 1 is a view in side elevation of the improved ejector. Fig. 2 is an enlarged sectional view through the main portion of the ejector.
This ejector tube has the same general shape as the regular glass saliva ejectors and consists of the straight portion 1, the curved portion 2, and a closed head 3. In
Specification of Letters Patent.

the latter is one or more holes 4 for the entrance of saliva. The tube is constructed of a light cheap waterproof material and We find that waxed or paraflined paper serves the purpose very satisfactorily. To increase the strength of the tube the surface is corrugated or fluted longitudinally as at 5, but the end 6 is made circular to permit the suction tube being attached thereon without leakage. It will thus be seen that we have provided a saliva ejector tube which is very cheap to manufacture permitting it being thrown away after use.
While we have shown the preferred embodiment of our invention it will of course be understood that changes in form and detail may be made without departing from the spirit thereof and that we wish to cover all such modifications within the scope of the annexed claim.
What we claim as new is As an article of manufacture, a dental saliva ejector, consisting of a substantially U-shaped seamless paper tube having fluted Walls, a smooth shank on one end thereof, and a perforate head on the other end thereof, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof we affix our signatures in presence of two witnesses.
