' My ,invention relates to a means 'for operatingelectric lamp switches and it has for its object to provide a rotary lamp switch member with a 'stud mounted on .a leaf spring and movable in a slot in a casing by a cam mounted on a collarso that the switch member' may be rotated a distance by the` collar and the cam when the collar is rotated in one direction, the leaf spring permitting the stud to move inwardly out of the way when the collar is rotated in the opposite direction. When the switch member is rotated by the engagement of the stud by a cam on the collar, the cam moves the switch member a predetermined distance and with, a further rotary movement of the c ollar, the cam will push the switch into a rece its at the end of the slot which permits the fram to pass the stud. The switchmember will then be moved back to normal position by a spring provided for this purpose. The rotary switch member having the stud is connected `with an electric switch of a well ltnqwn type. l

It will be seeiithatthe insulating member 8 is ratchet vshaped and that it is ngagedv-gby asprin'g conducting member 12 so that with the--r0fv Y tary movement of the insulating-'member 8" the conducting member 12 may be brought into contact with the conducting member 9 at 1.0 or 11 and that with another movement of the insulating member S the conducting member 12 will be brought into contact with a surface of the insulating member 8 to open the switch. This is all of a well known construction in which the conducting member 9 is connected with the conducting member 13 to which a binding post 14 is secured.
The conducting member 9 is secured at one side of the insulating ratchet member S. At the other side ofthe insulating ratchet niem- -ber 8 there is secured a plate 15 with ratchet teeth which are engaged by theratchet plate 16 the ratchet plate 1G being held yieidingly in engagement with the ratchet plate by the spring 17, this spring 1 7 having an eX- tending terminal 18 secured to the arm 19 mounted on the plate 16. This arm 19 is provided with bifurcated ends 2O between which there is secured an end 21 of vthe leaf spring 22, a stud 23 being mounted at the outer end of the said leaf spring 22. As
