The inunlated gear meshes during part of each revolution, with one of a pair of driving pinions 32, 33, Which are in train with the internal gear 27 and are adapted to drive said internal gear somewhat less than onehalf a revolution in the same direction as the mutilated gear is driven. The mutilated gear 31 is in mesh, during the major part of the remainder of each revolution, with a reversing gear 34 opposite the pinion 32 and in train with the internal gear 27 and said reversing gearis adapted to drive said internal gear somewhat less than onehalf a revolution in a direction opposite to that in which the mutilated gear is driven. Thus is provision made for transforming rotary motion of the shaft 25 and mutilated gear 31 into oscillatory motion or" the gear ring and agitator.
I claim as n1yinvention- A washing machine, comprising a tub formed 'With an inclined bottom and having a faucet in its wall at the lower margin of said bottom, a perforated false bottom fitting loosely within said tub, supporting rods fixed to the false bottom, and supports on the Wall of said tub for receiving said supporting rods.
