What-I claim is:
1. In a washing machine, the combination of a vat, a driving shaft extending upwardly through the bottom of the vat a centrifugal drying basket positioned in the upper porn tion of the lvat and Amounted upon the drive reciprocating washing element mounted l.within said vat below said basket, spring means exerting. an upward yielding pressure onsaid washing element, Ia cam member carried by Said basket engaging said wash ing element and adapted to co-operate with the spring lmeans' to reciprocate the washing element as the basket is rotated, and means v eter enlarged beyond the; diameterof the lower portion and provided with an independent discharge outlet, a drive shaft ex tending through the bottom of said vat, and a drying basket mounted for rotation in the enlarged upper portion of the vat and perforated to drain in .such enlarged upper portion only.
3. In a washing machine, in, combination, a cylindrical vat having an upper portion of a diameter enlarged over the lower portion, a drive shaft extending upwardly through the bottom of the vat, a perforate drying basket positioned in the up er portion of.
