To all whom it may com-em Be it known that-I, GHAfmas'E. YEOSEN-I BURG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Baltimore city, in the State of'Maryland,
have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Portable Towers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in portable towers, and particularly to a type designed for use as a surf tower.
It has for its object the production of a tower especially adapted for use in the surf and for the saving of life and property.
lVith these ends in view my invention consists in details of construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter and more in detail described.
In order that those skilled in the art to which my invention appertains may know how to make and use my improved tower and fully appreciate its advantages, I will now proceed to describe the same referring by numerals to the accompanying drawings in which- H Figure 1 is a side elevation of one of my improved towers. A tower house floor 10 is erected upon the four tubes 5 and is braced at its four corners by four tubes 11, crossing one another and secured at the intersection by a suitable four-way joint 12 and where they intersect and cross the four corner tubes 5, they are secured thereto by four-way castings 13. The floor is also supported midway of each side by four tubes extending to the center bar 6 and rigidly secured thereto about onethird way beneath the floor and in any suit- Specification or Lefi''rs tatat. The rear wheels if deemed best may be keyed to a shaft rotatable in the corner bearing and this shaft is provided with a sprocket wheel and a drive chain connects the sprocket wheel with a sprocket pinionon a gasolene motor located upon the tower house floor. The tower house floor is still further braced by tubes 19 converging and fastened to the central tube 6 as shown at 20.

I have not undertaken to give dimensions or proportions as they should be left to ex-' perience and to the particular uses to which it may be desired to put the tower.
In describing the frame work of the structure I have referred to tubes as being best adapted for the purpose as great strength with a minimum degree of weight can be thus attained, but it will be understood that I donot wish to be confined in this particular, the spirit of my invention residing in the production of a device which may be readily handled upon a beach and which will at the same time offer as little resistance to wind and water as possible, so
