'llz'n-LQt. Louis, in the county of St. Clair and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Mop, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements 1n mops. fl An objector the present invention is to geously juse'd with uneven or irregular surfaces, t'he nop adjusting itself to any irregularities enboimtered for the efficient cleaning thereof.

With'the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, can be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

In the drawings accompanying this specification and forming a part thereof. the preferred embodiment of my invention illustrated. in which Figure 1 is a view in perspective of the mop frame. Fig. 2 is a view in perspective of the mop, with the several parts in assembled relation and ready for use. Fig. 3 is a fragmental view, partially in section, of the mopping fibers and adjacent parts. Fig. 4 is a sectional view showing the rela-. tion of the inner and outer binders, the mopping fibers, and binding wire.

As illustrated in detail in Fig. t a pair of superimposed binders 13 and 14- are provided and between which are arranged the mopping fibers ll. The mop fibers or mopping material is securely held in place with relation to the binders by the stitching 15. thus preventing ts premature or accidental detachment. A binding wire 16 extends around the annular opening defined within the inner binder 14 and holds the binders. and fibers to the frame as illustrated in Fig The ends of the wire 16 are twisted together as at 17 and project through the opening defined at the meeting ends 18 of the binders. The twisting of the ends 17 produces the requisite amount of tension within the binding wire and securelv locks the fibers to the frame. Y

The binders with the intermediate fibers are mounted upon the triangular frame and with the binders proper lying adjacent the curved central portion 9 of the loops. The curvature in question is sufficient to prevent the binders from moving in either direction and thus prevents their accidental detachment. A handle 11) of wood or other suitable material is inserted within the coil 6 and may threz idedly engage the same if it be so desired or may be forcibly moved into frictional engagement therewith. A mop comprising :1 handle, a Wire coil engaging the same and including a plurality of singularly disposed itilXlS carried at the lower extremity thereof, said engularly disposed arms provided with upstanding loops for the securement of mopping material thereto, and a cross bar carried by said angularly disposed arms and extending beheath said coil.

4. A mop comprisin a handle, a, wire coil engaging the same and including an upper helical portion and a lower spiral portion, a plurality of angularly disposed arms cerried by the lower spiral portion of said coil, said angularly disposed arms provided with upstanding loops for the securement of mopping material thereto.

5. A mop comprising a handle, a wire coil engaging the same and including an upper helical portion and a lower spiral portion, a plurality of angular-1y disposed arms carried by the lower spiral portion of said coil, said ungularly disposed arms provided with upstanding loops for the secureinent of map ping material thereto, and a cross her carried by said angularly disposed arms "and extending centrally beneath said coil.

6. A mop comprising a handle, a s ring coil carried thereby and provided wit the lowermost convolution thereof bent to form a polygonal frame, said frame provided with upstanding loops at the spices thereof,

[the extremity of said frame extending centrally beneath said spring coil.
