Specification of Letters Patent.

Application filed July 9, 1913. Serial No. 778,132.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, Wmrmm) Rrennr, a citizen of the United States, residing at Breckenridge, in the county of Summit and State of Colorado, have invented new and useful Improvements in Teething- R1ngs, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to teething rings and the object of the invention is to provide a ring having a plurality of projecting biting surfaces, the inner or connecting portion of which is thinned out so as to permit the infant to secure a firm grip upon the same and is so curved as to conform with the outline of the jaws.
Further objects of the invention will ap* pear as the following description is read in connection with the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this application, and in which Figure 1 is an elevation of the ring. Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail sectional view taken therethrough.
Referring more particularly to the draw-.
ing, 1 represents a, ring formed of ivory, celluloid, gutta-percha, rubber or other suitable material having a plurality of projections 2 rojecting from the periphe thereof and aving a general semi-circu ar outline, as shown. These rojections are so constructed by adually increasing their thickness from t e point of connection to their outer edge as to give the infant a firm grip upon the projections. The ring also has its periphery recessed at the inner end of each projection, such recess conforming approximately to the outline of the infants jaws. Extending through and across the ring is a pin 3 upon which is mounted a spacing sleeve 4 adapted to hold the bells 5 in separated relation against opposite sides of the ring. In these rings is a ball 6 of sufficient to form recesses at their point of juncture with said ring as described.
