The general objects of the invention are to improve and simplify the construction and operation of bedstead joints of the character referred to so as to be reliable and efficient in use, comparatively inexpensive to manufacture, and so designedas to provide a strong and substantial connectionbetween the side bars and corner posts.

the parts can be easily and quickly connected together and a strong and substantial' corner fastener is provided.
By reference to Fig. 3, it will be seen that the shanks 8 of the studs d taper upwardly so that they. wedge in the slots8 of the weight sustained thereby, so that the longer the bed is in use, the: tighter and more rigid becomes the corner fastener. One wedging action takes place between theheads 2 of the studs d and the corner postsA due to the slant of the surfaces 9, and the second wedging action takes place between the tapering shanks 3 .and the slots 8 in the bracket C.

In a corner fastener, the combination of; a post, headed studs extending out of the posts from the interior thereof, a bracket comprising a plate and a base,- said base having means for engaging the said headed studs, a lug extending from the side of the plate, a side bar having an opening .to receive the lug, and a bolt' passing through the plate and side bar for securing the same I together.
In a corner fastener, the combination ofa post of circular cross-section,headed studs extending out of the post, a bracket having a base portion of circular cross-sectionto the post and provided with a centrally disposed vertical plate, said base having centrally disposed stud-receiving openingscontractedupwardly, said plate having openings contiguous with the openings of the base to accommodate the heads of the stud whereby the base will be wedged between the heads of the stud and the post, and means for securing aside bar to the bracket.
4. In a corner fastener, the combination of a post, a bracket fastened thereto and having a laterally extending lug and provided with an opening at one end of" the lug, a side bar having an opening to register with the opening in the bracket and to receive the said lug, and a bolt passing through the openings of the bracket and side bar for securing the latter to the bracket.

In acorner fastener, the combination of a corner post, a bracket fastened thereto and embodying a vertical plate, a sidebar of angular cross-section, and means for fastening the vertical flange of the side bar to the plate of the bracket, said plate of the bracket having recesses in its upper and lower edges, whereby the side bar can be reversibly connected with the bracket and have its horizontal flange engaged in either recess. 5 v 7.
