Be it known that I, EuwA-nn F. Crimes, of Syracuse, in the county of Onondaga, in: the State of New York, have invented a oertain new and useful Side Weather-Strip ping, of which thefollowing is a specificstion.

This invention relates to window constructions and has for-its object side weather stripping particularly adapted-tabs used in connection with window: frames-formed of sheet metal -or having sheet metah stops,'

through its frontfacc, of a sheet metal weather-stripping member comprising two parts disclosed at right-angles to each other, one of the parts resting at one' edge against a window fram-e'and having a channel opening out through its opposite edge, and the other part extending from the last named edge and slidably coiiperating with the chanml in the window sash, and means for retaining the member in place.

3. The combination with a sash frame and a -sash slidably mounted therein, and provided with a channel at one edge opening out through the face of the sash, of a vweaflier-stripping member including a base and a flange disposed at right-angles to each other, the base being doubled upon itself and resting at one edge against a surface fixed in respect to the sash frame, and the flange extending from the opposite edge of the base and projecting within the channel in the sash, and a rigidlyretained sash stop with a front wall arranged parallel to the face of the sash and having the inner edge portion thereof extending between the doubled portions of the weather-stripping member for rigidly retaining the same in place.

4. The combination with a sash frame and a sash having a channel opening out through thefront face thereof, of a weather-strip; ping memberincluding two parts disposed at right-angles to each other, one of the parts extending into the channel in the sash, and the other part resting against the sash frame and having a channel opening out through its edge from which the other part extends, a front window stop having a part projecting into the last-named channeh'and means for rigidly securing the stop to the frame and retaining the Weather-stripping member in place.

The combination with a sash frame and a sash slidably mounted therein and having at one edge a vertical channel opening out through the .front face of the sash, of a sheet metal front stop having inner and outer walls arranged substantially parallel to the face of the sash and having their edges resting against fixed surfaces, and a connecting wall spaced apart from the planeof said fixed surfaces, a retaining member extending through the last named wall and engaging the sash frame for rigidly holding the stop in position, and a llangc rigid with theft-opt wall of the stop and extend- :ingperpendmularly from. an intermediate part of said wall and projecting within the channel in the sash.

6. The combination with a sash frame, of a sash having a rabbeted lengthwiseedge with one wall of the rabbet intersecting the with the side walls of a channel, a rear window stop, and a front stop having an inner wall extending in parallelism with the front face of the sash, and a flange supported by said wall and extending perpendicularly from an intermediate part of the same and projecting in between said Walls of the channel in the sash, and a fastening member passing through the front stop and into the sash frame for rigidly holding the stop and flange associated therewith in operative po- :sitions.

7. In a window structure and in'combination, a window frame, a window sash, a metallic rear stop having a forwardly extending part resting directly against the window frame, a front metallic stop having a wall arranged parallel to the face of the sash, a wcather-stripping member secured to an edge of the sasln'and a stationary weather: stripping member comprising a flange portion cooperating with the sash and the firstnamed weather-stripping member, and a base portion disposed at right-angles to the flange portion, and comprising two legs constituting the side walls of a channel, said wall of the front stop having an edge portion projecting between said legs, and a fastening member extending through the front stop, the forwardly extending part of the rear stop, and into the window frame for holding the parts in place, substantially as and for the purpose described.
