lle it known that I, Guonnr. "W. Lewis, a citizen of thellnited States, and resident of State of IOWa, have invented a certain new and useful Gearing Device for ashingl\1'la hines and ll 'ringers, of which tho lollowing is a specification. I
'lne object of my invention is to prov1de a gearingdeviee of simple, durable and inexpensive eonstruction for imparting motion from one shaft to another and for quickly and easily reversing the directionof the rotation of the driven shaft for tl1rowing it out of gear with relation to the first shaft.
A further object is to provide such a mechanism and to provide means whereby said mechanism may he operated from a foot pedz'l for throwing the two shafts out of gear with each other or rotating the driven shaft in either direction.
Still a further object to provide in such a deviee a ear easing, suitably constructed for containing the reversing gears;

Suitably mounted is a gear casing, com prising: a lower half '18 and an u' iiper halt ll). 'ihc lower half of the gear easing mounted on a suitable support and tie upper half thereof is detachable.
