To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SEYMOUR WV. BoNsALL, a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Manhattan, city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Drieis; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the saine.
My invention has relation to means whereby lumber may be quickly and conveniently I dried, andthe principal object of the invenerly disposed boards or planks.
My invention is shown in certain preferred embodiments in the accompanying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 is an external side elevation of one form of the apparatus, Fig. 2 is a median vertical section of the same, and Fig. 3 is a plan view of the same with a portion of the top removed.
The main container is composed. of anV outer cylindrical casing 10 made of perforated construction 1n any desired manner, and preferably of wire mesh, as shown;

A two part steam pipe 26 is carried in an axial position by the container, and a double drum 27 at the bottom, which is stationary, serves to feed steam to said the pipe 28 and to carry off steam by the exit pipe 29. Indeed, so far as this feature of my preferred invention is concerned it is broad enough to cover the use of any devices for distributing the air currents so as to secure substantial uniformity.
A variety of changes may be introduced in' this device without departing from my invention, and I do not limit myself to the details herein shown and described.
What I claim is- 1. A wood drier comprising a revolnble container for timber havingY a substantially axial admission opening for air, and a suitable exit opening therefor, and heating means located near the axis of the container in the path of the entering air, substantially as described.
2. A wood drier comprising a revoluble container for timber having a substantially axial admission opening, and a suitable exit opening therefor, and an axial steam pipe in said container in the path of the entering air, substantially as described.
3. A wood drier comprising a revoluble container for timber having a substantially axial admission opening for air, and a suitable exit opening therefor, an axial twopart steam pipe in said container, and means for conducting steam into one part of said pipe and out of the other part, substantially as described.V
4. A wood drier comprising `a revoluble containerV for timber having substantially axial admission opening for air, and a suitable exit opening therefor, an axial twopart steam pipe in said container having an extension leading from one part of said pipe to the other, and means for conducting steam into one part of said pipe and out of the other part, substantially as described.
5. A wood drier comprising a revoluble container for timber having substantially axial admission opening for air, and a suitable exit opening therefor', an axialjtwopart steam pipe in saidl container having a spirally disposed extension leading from one part of said pipe to the other, and means for conducting steam into one part of said pipe and out of the other part, substantially as described.

A wood drier comprising a revoluble container for timber having substantially axial admission opening for air, and a suitable exit opening therefor, in combination with an axially disposed heating means and perfo-rated cylinders surrounding said heat-y ing4 means and adapted to-oppose a'gradually lessening resistance to the passage of air from the end of the container inward, substantially as described.
10. A wood drier comprising a revoluble container for lumber having a deflector at one end leading to a substantially axial opening, in combination with a steam radiator carried by said container above said deflector, substantially as described.
11. A wood drier comprising a revoluble casing of Wire mesh, meansv for admitting air near the axis of the casing, and means for supporting the wood to be dried within' said casing, substantially as described.
12. A wood drier comprising a revoluble casing of Wire mesh, means for admitting air near the axis of the casing, a cylindrical graduated wire mesh distributer surrounding the admission opening, and means for f supporting the wood to be dried within said casing, substantially as described.
13. A wood drier comprising a revoluble air near the axis of the casing, spider arms at the top of t-he casing uniting in a hub, driving means connected with said hub, and means within the casing for supporting the wood to be dried, substantially as described.
