this invention not only includesthe lift but also the lifts 5, 6 and 7 rubber, while the other lifts are of leather. The lift 7 is of materially greater thickness than the lifts 4, 5 and 6, while the lift 6 is of greater thickness The lift 7 is formed with posed opening to provid which is closed by the lifts 4 and 6, and ar- To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK STOLLER, a subject of the King of Hungary, residing at Kittanning, in the county of Armstrong and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cushioned Heels, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawin This invention re ates to cushioned heels and has for its object to provide 'a heel-0f such class, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, for aiiordin comfort and ease to a person wearing a soe equipped with a heel in accordance with this invention.
Further objects of the invention are to provide a cushioned heel, which is comparatively simple in its construction and arrange ment2 strong, durable, elicient and conven` ient mits use, readily set,up and inexpensive.
lVith the foregoing andother objects in view, the invention consists of the novel construction, combinationand arrangement of parts as hereinafter more specifically deaccompanying drawings, wherein 1s shown an embodiment be understood modifications to which come within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.
In the drawings wherein like reference The lift 6 is of a centrally disand its' other end secured by an eye 1l to a plate l2 arranged in compartment 8. The spring 9 acts as a cushion for the resilient lift 6.
What I claim is 1. A cushioned heel comprising a series of superposed lifts, one of the intermediate lifts being resilient, another of the' intermediate lifts provided with a compartment closed by said resi ient lift, a pair of plates arranged in said compartment, and a coiled spring interposed between and secured to said plates, one of said plates 4bearing against said resilient lift.
2. A cushioned heel comprising an upper lift, a tread lift, a resilient lift positioned against said tread lift, a lift of greater thickness than said resilient lift interposed between the upper lift and said resilient lift, said lift of greater thickness provided with characters denote corresponding parts l a centrally disposed opening constituting a throughout the several views :-Figure 1 1s a compartment, and cushioning means arvcrtieal sectional view of a heel in accordranged in` said compartment and interposed ance with this invention showing the adapbetween said upper lift and said resilient tation thereof in connection with a shoe, the lift.
