To all whom it 'may concern:

Beit known that I,- WALTER G. Hollston, inthe county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful `lmprovement in Portable Escritoir; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the-same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part Vof this specication, in which Figure l represents my improved escritoir open. Eigure 2 is a cross-section of the same, taken through the line a: x, g. 1.

My invention has for its object to furnish a simple, convenient, and inexpensive escritoir, which shall be so constructed and arranged that, when opened up for use, it may serve as a smooth and rm writing-table, and when closed, for transportation, may be folded up into small compass, and, at the same time', serve as. a receptacle for paper, pens, inkstand, stamp-box,

It consists inthe construction and arrangement ofthe various parts,- as hereinafter more fully described.

A space is thus formed, between the inkstand C and box D, for paper, pencils, pen-holder, 85e.
