To all whom "it may concern Be it known that I, PAUL H. OELMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dayton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pocket Electric Lights; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the acand to the letters and com an in drawings p y g which figures of reference markedthereon, form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to certain improvements in pocket electric lights.
The object of the invention is to provide a lamp or light of this type which may be carried in the upper vest pocket, and of such a size as will not interfere with the comfort or convenience of the person having such possession thereof.
My improved electric light is illustrated in the accompanying drawings of which Figures 1 and-2 are longitudinal elevations of my improved pocket light; Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view; and Fig. 4 is a cross section on the line a-a of Fig. 3.
In a detailed description of the invention similar reference characters indicate corresponding parts inthe drawings.
The metallic casing or outer shell 1 is of the form of a tube'or narrow cylinder suitable to be carried in the upper outer vest pocket as one wouldcarry a pencil. On the interior of said shell the battery 2 is placed with a shell of insulating material between it and the outer shell or casing. The carbon terminal 11 of the battery. supports a contact member 10 which contacts with the conductor 9 of the lamp 8. The said lamp is supported in the usual socket which engages the lamp-reflector 7 placed within the mouth of the casing 1. T e current through the lamp is controlled by a resilient contact arm 6 one end of which is made fast to the outer end of the shell or casing 1 and the other end of which is shaped with a contact head 5 which lies over an opening 4 in the shell or casing 1 and may be made to contact with the battery 2 by pressure. A pocket electric light, comprising an outer cylinder casing with an aperture in the side thereof, a battery incased in a shell of non-conducting material within said casing, a lamp electrically connected with said battery, and a resilient contact arm secured to the outer cylindrical-casing, said arm having its free or contact end enlarged and in proximity to the aperture in said casing, and adapted to complete the circuit through the lamp and. to provide means for securing the device in the pocket, substantially as described.

A pocket electric light, comprising a cylindrical casing, a battery incased in said casing, a lamp electrically connected to said battery and a resilient contact arm secured to said casing said arm having its free or contact end enlarged, said battery adapted to be placed .in electrical contact with said enlarged end of said resilient arm, and saidresilient contact arm adapted to complete the circuit through the lamp and to provide means for securing the device in the pocket, substantially as specified.

A pocket electric light, comprising an outer cylindrical casing with an aperture in the side thereof, a batter incased in a shell of non-conducting material within said casing, a lamp electrically connected with said battery, and a resilient contact arm secured to the outer cylindrical casing, said arm having its free or contact end in roximity to the aperture in said casing, and adapted to complete the circuit through the lamp and to provide means for securlng the device in the pocket, substantially as described.

A pocket electric light, comprising a cylindrical casing, a battery incased in said casing, a lamp electrically connected to' said battery and a resilient contact arm secured to said casing, said battery adapted to be placed in electrical contact with the contact end of said resilient arm, and said resilient contact arm adapted to complete the circuit through the lamp and to provide means for securing the device in the pocket, substantially as specified.
