. -The belt 38 passes around a series of rollers 39. between the belt wheel 37 and the large pulley 40 on the shaft 41 upon which the pulley 42 is mounted, said pulley 42 being driven by the belt 43. from the drive pulley44 upon vthe drive shaft 45. The
shafts 41 and 45 are mounted in the adjustable frame 46'whichis pivoted at its forjustable Ward end to the lugs 47 depending from the forward end of the base, by means of thev shaft 48 mounted .through the lugs 47V and carrying certain. of the vrollers 39. The adframe' 46 is-retained 4in. adjusted position by means of the latch member 49 carried'upon thetransverse rod 50 positioned through the rear end of the frame 46 and having the wheel 51 upon one end by means of which the rod may be turned to engage the latch member 49 with the curved depending arm 52 secured at. .its upper end to the base 1 beneath the lantern box 3. The shaft 41 also carries the roller, (not shown) for feeding the film 6. It will be understood that the adjustable frame 46 is raised and lowered and secured in adjusted position by the latch member 49 to adjust the picture on the screen.` The receiving reel or take up reel 8 for the film 6 is driven by a separate .belt 53 passing around belt wheel 54 upon the shaft 9 and around one of the rollers 39, as will be clearlyunderstood.
From the foregoing 1t will be. apparent4 that I have provided a moving picture ma-I extension 31 upon chine in 'which the pictures may be focused on the, screen by adjusting the carriage 15 to move the film, instead of adjusting the lens. The maushine4 is also constructed so that the projector and lens carried thereby will have a motion corresponding to the movement of each picture upon the film during the time it is projected upon the screen, thus retaining the same in focus and thereby making thepicture clear. Further, the reciprocating movement of the projector is caused by a cam carried upon the same shaft as the 'rotary shutter and owing tojthe construction and arrangement of the various parts r of the machine, the same may be lreadily adi` justed, as desired, and retained in adjusted position. The film may be readily adjusted upon the screen by adjusting the frame 46 to bring the picture on the center of the vscreen as will be clearly understood by referring to the drawing. e
Owing to the extremely simple construction and arrangement of the parts of the machine, the cost of the same will be reduced and the machine will be highly efficient and durable in use.
IWlhile I have shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will be apparent thatminor changes in the details of construction may be made Within the scope of the appended claims without departing from the spirit of my invention.
Havingl thus described my invention, what I claim is 1. A moving picture machine comprising a base, a longitudinal shaft mounted above the base, a rotary shutter upon one end of the. shaft, apulley upon the. opposite end of the shaft, a cam .wheelmounted upon the shaft., a projector mounted above the base and engaged with the cam wheel, means for feeding a film rearwardly of the projector, a lantern box rearwardly of the film and shutter, the cam wheel causing the projector to move downwardly with each picture upon the film, means for causing upward movemert of the projector at the end of each picture projection, and means for driving the pulley.
