The portion of the bracket 20 is formed with an outward extension 50, forming a bearing for the shaft 26 in line with the bearing 22. Mounted on the shaft 26, above the bearing 50 is a beveled gear 53, formed on which is a clutch member 54. Mounted on the shaft 26, above the beveled gear 53 and spaced apart therefrom, is a beveled gear 55, formed on which is a clutch 56. Slidably, but non-rotatably mounted on the shaft 26, between the gears 53 and 55, is a double faced clutch member 57 operatively connected with which is a shifting arm 58 which is connected with. a rod 59. The lower end of the rod.59 ispivoted to a link 60 which in turn is pivoted to a horizontally mounted rod 61, on one end of which is ahandle 62. The beveled gears 53 and are in mesh with a beveled gear 63 on the end of one of the wringer shafts 64.
- The hinged cover 12 is pivoted to the ex- 'tension .21 of the bracket 20 at a point in line with the center of the shaft 29. The hub 31 of the crank wheel 30 is rotatably mounted on the shaft 29 and an extension 65 on the bracket 41 forms a bearing in which the hub 31 is journaled, thereby hinging the cover 12 to the shaft 29-. On account of the man nor in which the cover 12 is hinged to the tub body at points in line with the center of the shaft 29, it does not interfere with the rack bar 44 when the hinged cover is raised,- and I thereby avoid breaking any of the parts-should the hinged cover be raised when the dolly is being'operated.
The parts hereinbefore described are so constructed and arranged that their practical operation is as .follows: When power is applied to the pulley 19 and the shaft 18 is thereby operated, the shaft 26-is rotated. The beveled gears 52 and 51 being always in mesh, the shaft 29 will be rotated with-the shaft 18. The crank wheel 30, however, is

The beveled gear wheels 53 and 55 arealways in mesh with the wheels 63 but the beveled gears 53 and 55 are loosely mounted on the shaft 26. The clutch 57 is so mounted that it may be held in neutral position or may be thrown into gear with either of the beveled gears 53 or 55, thereby turning the wringer shaft in either direction. It thus appears that the wringer shaft may be op erated in either direction and at the same time the dolly may be operated or not,'as
,may be desired. The gears from which the wringer shaft is operated, and from which the shaft 29 is operated, are all in line upon the same shaft, whereby I secure a very simple and strong construction. Special attention is called to theadvam tages of my improved brackets. The bracket 20 is formed with bearings whereby the shafts 29 and 26 are always held true and in proper adjustment with relation to each other. The bracket 14 forms both a support and a bearing for the shaft 26 and is such that the shafts 26 and 18 are always held in proper position with relation to each other.
The construction of my gearing and brack- .ets is simple and durable and a suitable casing may be readily rovided for the gears 51, 52, 53, 55 and 5f.
I claim as my invention: a
1. In a device of the class described, the combination of a support, a hinged member thereon, a bracket provided with horizontal bearings in line with each other and with an extension, one end of which is in line with said horizontal bearings, with ad extension designed to form a support, with vertical hearings in line with each other, a bracket on said hinged member having an extension pivoted to the extension on said first bracket in line with said horizontal bearings, a sec- 0nd bracket on said hinged member forml 11-0 in a .vertical bearing and provided with guides for a rack bar, said second bracket on said hinged member being provided with an extension forming a bearing in line with the horizontal be'arings on said first bracket.

In a device of the class described, the combination of a support, a hinged member thereon, 'a bracket on said support, said bracket having formed thereon horizontal hearings in line with each other and having an extension, one end of which is in line with said horizontal bearings, a shaft mounted in said horizontal bearings, a crank wheel having an extended hub formed thereon loosely mounted on said horizontalshaft, a vertical shaft mounted on said support, abeveled gear on said vertical shaft,.a beveled gear on' said horizontal shaft in mesh with said first beveled gear, a bracket on said hinged mem ber pivoted to the extension on said first bracket, in line with said horizontal bearings, a second bracket on said hinged memnon rotatably and designed to coast with the her, said last named bracket being provided clutch member on said hub.
