Z10 all whom it may concern Be it known that l, \YILLIAM E. Coarro, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Toledo. in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented (1H Improvement in Flnsl lights, of which thefollowing is a speci cation.
My present invention relates to electric flash liqhts, and one of the principal objects thereof is to provide a liush light which may be used with the standard sized dry cells.
Another objectof the invention is to provide a light of the class described which may quickly and easily be attached to or removed from a dry cell, and which may be adjusted when in place thereon in positions where flash or steady light may be obtained.
A further ohject of the invention is to provide a device of the class described, which will be simple. durable, efficient in operation and inexpensive to manufacture;
With these and other objects in View, which will become apparent as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts will be hereinafter scribed and claimed. and accompanying drawing, in which like characters of reference indicate like parts throughout the figures. of which- Figure 1' represents a perspective view of the invention as applied to a dry cell of standard construction. Fig. 52 represents a vertical sectional view through the same. Fig. 3 represents a horizontal sectional view through the device taken on the plane indicated by the line 3-3 of Fig. 2. The shank projects slichtlv bcyond neck 14, and is provided with the usual contact point 18. A. second contact point is provided, which comprises :1 nictullic stud 19. having an enlarged fiat hoe l. 20, against which n flanged insulating sleeve 21 rests. said sleeve being supported by the shank of the stud. and against the sleeve at the opposite side thereof from head 20, rests an insulating collar 22, and surrounding suid sleeve between collar QQand the flange onthe sleeve, is one end of a coil spring the opposite end of which is udaptod to thread onto the outer surface of the threaded neck i l. ,The function of spring 23. is to maintain points 18 and in constant.
