Further objects of the invention are to provide .a combined rail chair and joint, which is simpleinits construction and arrangement,- strong, durable, eflicient and convement-in its.nse,rcadily -set up and comparativelyinexpensive to manufacture.

'.VVith the: foregoing and. otherI objects in view, thelinvention consists, of the Ynovel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter -inore specifically de- I scribed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings,l wherein is shown an embodiment l of the invention, but lit, is to be understoodv that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to which come within the scope of the claim hereunto appended.

The combined rail chair :aiidjointconsists of a chairplatev l1.1lia'-i'ing depending therefrom a Apair :of longitudinally disposed ribs 12 and 13, constituting reinforcements for the plate 11 and which are arranged between a pair of ties not shown. The chair plate has one longitudinal marginal portion of its upper face providcdwvithv a longitudii'ially disposed and vertically extending flange 14, having theiiineij face thereof underc't 'c-, beveled as at 15., `The chair plate 11 has the' other longitudinal marginal portion of its upper face provided with a longitudinally disposed. vertically `extending flange 16. The flanges 1% and 16 are of greater height than the baseS 9 of the track rails. The c hair plate ll'supports the bases 9 of track rails.
