To all whom it may concern Be it known that-I, ANGEL FERNNDEZ, a citizen of the Republic of Cuba, residing at Habana, Cuba, have invented certainnew `and useful Improvements in Steam-Boilers7 of which the following is a specification.`
`The present invention relates to improvements in steam boilers, particularly to `internally red boilers and the `improvements consist mainly in cuttingthelower part of` per and lower parts of internally tired boilers a forced circulation of the water' withinlthe boiler must beestablished as long was steam is generated by using the hydrokineter of Weir.; By means of this auxiliary apparatus alone the non-uniform;dilatation of the boiler can be avoided as the upper layers of `strata of the water `will rapidly evaporate while the water near the bottom is nearly freezing. The hydrokineter by means of an auxiliary boiler .which com- `Inonly works under a pressure :of thirty pounds per square inch, will hold` the water `at the bottom of the main boiler at a temperature of 130 `degrees C. However modern boilers Work with higher pressure and `therefore the hydrokineter will become inefficient while on the other hand the` temperature and the dilatationof the upper g and the `lower part of the bottom of the boiler mantle which latter is hardly dilat-` ing should also be taken into consideration.
Another cause for the non-uniforml dilata,-`
tion is the refrigerationoi" the wateringithe lower part of the boiler which tends to hold that part of the boiler at a lower` temperature than the remaining part.
The cause of the deformation or flattening of many `of the cylindrical boilers now in use is only to be seen in the non-uniform dilatation of the upper and lower half cylinders, in: consequence of which the boiler: loses its `geometrical form and takes the` form of an ellipsoid unable to withstand the highl pressure which the cylindrical form was able to stand.

The mantle 1 of the boiler is cut straight on its lower part `so as to `form `ineross sec-` tion about 'g of a circle,and the mantles 2 of the lire-boxes 3 are shaped accordingly. The mantle 1 of the boiler and the Inantles 2 of the fire-boxes 3 are secured to the horseshoe pieces 5 by means of a row of horizon` tal transversal rods 17 which eithertrom one side of the mantle cross the horse-shoe (Figs. 1 and 2), or which tangentially pass the same as shown in Fig. 4. In the `former case they extend through the mantles of both adjacent fire-boxes and are provided at their outer ends with a thread for the recep vtion of nuts 18 engagingyshoes 19 interposed between said nuts and said walls, while. the

In Fig. 5 a boiler is illustrated provided with a single interior fire-box, and in which `the ,horse-shoe pieces 5 andthe vertical rod 6 rare dispensed with and which showsv only the horizontal rods 17, rthe upwardly in-y clined ends of which are secured to the similarly `inclined ends of 'the boilers by means )of screws 31 and nuts 32.
