The invention consists in an elastic metallic in such manner as to producea dat strip having loo s or eyes on each edge for receiving a -hooke fastening, and allowing `the garter to be adapted to larger or smaller limbs, as may be required.
The following is a description of my new article of manufacture: fsf

to present a flatness indibated in the drawings, and a row of loops or eyes, ee, along each edge. The mode of producing such'a coil mightbe ill ustratedl by taking two round rods,l and, while holding them parallel to each other and at a short distance apart, wind a wire in a lspiral manner aroundthe rods, carrying 'it from one to the other, that the wires formingfthecoilsLcross-a commonvceuter betweenthe rods. This produces a iiat spring, which presents two eyes for receiving hooks a a at each coil, and which consequently yallows the said hooks to be appliedv to any one of the coils throughoutthe length -of the garter, and
to draw equally on'both of its edges.
If desirable, the garter thus made can be covered with some light material and ornawill not be liable to injure the wearer. Having described my invention, what I claim' as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent,'
