Be it known that I, EnwiN R. STORM, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York in the county of New York and State of Bew York, have invented cert-ain j move the printing-plate any small 'distanee to bring it to perfect register; third, to provide a plate to eover the grooves andprevent the printing-plate froin denting or, be- .ing foi-eed into the eroe-ves; fourth, to pro= vide al plate-clamp that will lio-ld the printing-plate and a sufficient number of andhave had their holding edges brought to beai-,on the edges of the printing-plate; fifth, to provide a means for reino-ving the plates after printing; and, sixth, to provide a means of readily removing the plateclamps from the groove. The adjusting-screw 6 is formed with a threaded portion 16, a cylindrical portion 6, adapted to pass within the threaded hole 11 and a head 17 in which is formed the slot 18. Between the head 17 and thecylindrieal portion 6 is formed the shoulder 19. (See Figs. 6 and 7.)
To the cylindrical portion (Bof the adjusting-screw is fitted the curved surface 20 of the'incinber 21 which is formed integrally with the face-piece 7. The member 21 is adapted to extend within the groove 2, and is vformed with a face 22 conforming with and'adapted to bear against a side of the ,said groove 2. (See Figs. 8, 9, 10 and 11.) The member 21 is recessed, forming a surface 23, adapted to. receive theshoulder 19, and a surface 24 adapted to receive the head 17, and' is ,further formed with a surface 25, tangent to the curved surface 20 and approximately parallel to the surface 22, adapted topass .the cylindrical portion of the adjusting-screw 6 when the said adjusting-screw is in the groove and the face-piece (See Figsf?, 9, 10 and 11.)
