This invention relates to neektie fasteners,

and it more particularly relates to fasteners' for bow ties. The prime object Vof the invention is to provide an improved vform of tie fastener' which may be quickly and easily applied fpr securing thetie in place on an ordinary turndown collar, being;r also applicable to standing collars. l Another object of the invention is to provide a fastener of this character which may be quickly and easily applied to any size-.or style of bow-tie. Another object is to provide.for protectingr the stitehesby whict cured to the bow-tie, so that Asaid stitches cannot be cut Jr worn by contact with the collar or other-object. Another object of the invention is to provide a fastener of this character which will efficiently hold onto the collar and retain its adjusted position thereon.

Another object is to provide a fastener of this'charaeter by means of 'which lthe tie is held in proper shape, so as to graceful appearance at all times. y

A further object is to provide a device of this character -which is simple of construc-4 tion and eomparatlvely inexpensive to manufacture. Other objects and advantages will be recited' hereinafter and in the claims.

The element`6 Ais referably stamped-freni sp'r'ingy sheetmet'ali, Such as steel, brass, or some suitable alloy, and this plate or sprin constitutes the 'hase member, being forme( with apertures 9 through which stitches of thread 10 are passed, for` securing the tie or bow thereto. The base (i is also provided with apertures 11 which are preferably semi` circular and are intersected by the median line of the base. These apertures` are preferably adjacent to the respective"`top `and bottom edges of the base and are separated by a. bridge 12, the sides of which latter are parallel with'said upper and lower edges of the base. This plate is also provided with grooves 13,`e'xtending from the. top edge to the'bottom edge and'com'municating with the apertures 9. These grooves or 'depres-I sions constitute thread seats,while'the adjabcent shoulders or ridges-M cons'titute threadprotecting means, since-obviously, the collar of thewearcr is held out of Contact with the threadsA or stitches l() by means of said shoulders,

We'claim: I 1. The herein `described Vtie-holder com prising .a base plate adaptedto be secured to a Vtie, a spring clamp element-.bent at its central portion to form a medial groove and spaced transverse shoulders adjacent said groove, one onleach'vside thereof, and a staple extending through said base plate and having its ends vbent into said groove and *A 'spaced from the'ends thereof, svhereby said ends may'co-act with the portions'of-the shoulders lying between the ends .and they end of the groove, in centering andretain-V ing thetie-holder on a collar button.
