Specification of Letters Patent.

The invention consists of the novel con struction and arrangement of the parts and combination of parts-hereinafter more fully set forth in the following specification and pointed out in detail in the appended claim.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a top plan view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a front elevation of same. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional View on the line X-X of Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a detail perspective View, on an enlarged scale, of the grease pan. Fig. 5 is a detail view of the pan scraper.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, and in which like reference numerals designate like parts throughout the several views thereof, 1 designates the four uprights of the stand and which are formed of angle iron connected near their lower ends by the flat metal rods 2, and at their upper ends by the angle irons 3 and 4, the said angleirons 3 which are at the back and sides of the stand are arranged with the flange projecting upwardly, and the angle iron 4 with the flange projecting downwardly. The metal rods 5 project from the angle-iron 4 at the front to the angle-iron 3 at the rear of the stand and have their upper surface flush with the upper surface of the said angle irons 3 and 4, and are secured to the under surface of said angle-irons in any suitable manner. Just below the rods 5 are the angle-irons 6 and 7 mitered at their abutting ends and secured to the inner surface of the uprights 1.
The angle-irons 6 at the back and sides of the stand have their flanges projecting upwardly and the angle-iron 7 at the front of the stand has its flange projecting downwardly. These angle-irons 6 and 7 form a rest for the pan 8 which catches the scrapings from the pan which has been scraped, as hereinafter described. The two uprights 1 at the front of the stand are cutout at 9 to allow the pan 8 to be slid in and out of [JOSH-1011 on the stand. At the side of the stand is a metal strip 10 having its ends connected to the stand and spaced apart by the metal pieces 11, 12, and 13, thus forming a rest between the pieces 10 and 13 for the pan-scraper 15, and a rest between the pieces 11 and 12 for the grease-pan 14, which latter is provided on three sides with a flange 16 which rests on the pieces 10, 11 and 12. The piece 10 also forms a rest for the cloth with which the pans are wiped off. The stand is provided with casters 17.
The pan to be scraped is placed on the top of the stand and rests on the rods 5. The operatorscrapes the inside of the pan with the scraper 14, the upwardly-projecting flange of the angle-irons 3 prevents the pan from being forced off the top of the stand, and hold it steadily while being scraped. After the pan has been scraped it is turned over and the scrapings fall between the rods 5 into the pan 8,which latter is removed as often as necessary for the pur pose of emptying it.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
A portable pan cleaner comprising a stand formed of four upright angle irons,the two rear uprights being higher than the two front uprights, and all four of said uprights being connected at their upper ends by four angle irons, the angle irons at the sides and back having their flanges projecting upwardly and the angle iron at the front having its flange projecting downwardly, the two front upright angle irons having cutouts in the front thereof, a number of rods projecting across the top of the stand from front to back thereof on an upward incline, the upper edges of said rods being flush with the surface of the irons which connect the four uprights, a rest below said rods formed of four angle irons connected to said uprights on a line with the cut-outs in the front uprights, the two side angle irons In testimony whereof I afiix my signature and the back angle iron of said rest having d in presence of two Witnesses. their flanges projecting upwar ly and the front angle iron of said rest having its JOHN THOME' 5 flange projecting downwardly, and a pan Witnesses:
