UNITED STATES PATENT @FFECE.
BRIDLE-BROVJ-BAND LOOP.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 10, 1914.
Application filed August 13, 1912. Serial No. 714,771.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, \VILLIAH A. BUCHE, a citizen of the United States, and residing at Industry, in the county of Clay and State of Kansas, have invented new and useful Improvements in Bridle-Brow-Band Loops, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in loops for attaching a bridle brow-band to the crown; and the principal objects are to provide a simple, easily adjusted loop, which shall be more durable than the ordinary loop formed out of the ends of the brow-band.
Such loop preferably consists of metal, so formed as to receive the side straps of the crown and hold the brow-band in proper position.
I attain these objects by means of the device illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which- Figure l is a perspective view of a bridle crown and brow-band connected by means of my device; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the reverse side of a rosette with my device in position for the insertion of the crown straps when it is desired to use a to sette.
Like numerals indicate like parts in both views.
1 is the bridle crown; 2, the brow-band; 3, the rosette; 4, a pair of U shaped loops or bridge members closed at both ends secured to the arms of the U shaped eye 5 formed to engage the terminals of the browband in their bight portion. Said U shaped bridge members are arranged in parallel planes and adapted to inclose the crown straps and to frictionally engage the U shaped eye 6 of the rosette 3.
In the use of my device, the loop is attached to each end of the brow-band, the rosette placed in position shown in Fig. 2 and the crown straps passed through the loop at 7, as shown in Fig. 1.
For lightness and simplicity I make the loop of wire formed into two bands joined together at the eye; but it might, of course, be formed of one strip having only the one opening through which to pass the crown straps. The loop is preferably made of metal which may be easily formed into the desired shape, though it may be made of any other suitable material.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A device for attaching a bridle-browband to the crown, such device consisting of a member arranged to be secured to the end of the brow-band by means of an eye arranged to receive the end of the browband in its bight portion, a pair of arms eX- tending therefrom, a pair of U shaped bridge members secured to said arms, said bridge members, with said arms, forming loops which are resiliently held apart by the said eye and arranged to engage the loop member of a rosette, by means of which said brow-band is held in assembled position.
