'l`he'invention has further for its object to provide improved means for mounting a mold in constant relation to the outlet of the crucible of the `furnace whereby the metal discharged from the said outlet will tlow directly to the center of the bottom of said mold without in its, assage contacting with the sides of. the mold? In an electric furnace, a Casing havinga refractory and non-Conducting lining, a Crucible mounted within said lining, said lining having` portions contacting with opposite sides of said Crucible forming Chambers upon. opposite sides of the Crucible, electrodes within said chambers separat/ed from each other' by said lining, the lower portions of said electrodes contacting with said Cru- Ciblel and the upper portions diverging therefrom to increase the heating effect on said Cru ible from the bOttom to the top, and a resistance element interposed between said electrodes and said Crucible.
9. In an electric furnace, a Crucible, a pair of electrodes adjacent thereto, a bridge wall -of refractory non-conducting material separating said lelectrodes so that the heat generated may be deflected to or Concentrated in said Crucible.
10. In an electric furnace, thecombination. of a. tiltable Casingl having a lining of lire-brick, said lining having a dividing wall forming` chambers upon opposite .sides of said Crucible, opposite electrodes in said chambers inclosing comparatively large said electrodes whereby they may be :in Contact with said Crucible and position the same within said furnace.
11. In an electric furnace, the Combination with a tiltable casing havinga'lining of tire-brick forming a division Wall in the furnace, opposite electrodes adjacent said" :Crucible and adapted in conjunction-with said division wall to hold and support said Crucible when pouring.
12. In an electric furnace, the Combination with -a tiltablev casing', of a, refractory liningr therefor, a Crucible inclosed within said lining, said 'lining-havingj a' dividing wall forming chambers upon opposlte sides of said Crucible, electrodesin sind opposite chambers shaped to contact with the lower portion of said Crucible and diverging from the upper portion thereof, a resistance element interposed between said elect-redes and said Crucible, said division vgall being adapted to-hold and support said Crucible when pouring.
13. In an electric furnace, the Combination with a tiltable casing, of a refractory lining,r therefor, a Crucible inelosed Within said lining, said lining having a dividing wall forming chambers upon opposite sides of said Crucible, electrodes-in said opposite Chambers shaped to Contact with the lower portion of said Crucible and diverging from the upper portion thereof, a resistance element interposed between said electrodes and said Crucible, a spout leading from said Crucible tothe exterior of said furnace, said division wall heilig adapted to hold and support said vCrucible when pourinv'.

In an electric furnace, the Combination with a tiltable casing, of a refractory lining therefor, a Crucible inclosed within said lining, said lining having a dividing wall forming chambers upon opposite sides of said Crucible, electrodes vin said opposite Chambers shaped to Contact with the lower portion of said Crucible and diverging from the upper portion thereof, a vresistance element interposed between said electrodes and said Crucible, a spout leading from said Crucible to the exterior of said furnace, said division wall being adapted to hold and supsaid Crucible, a spout leading from said Cru- Cible tothe exterior of said furnace, said division wall being` adapted to hold and support said Crucible when pouring, a mold swingingly supported on said furnace on an axis passingy through the end' of said spout.
