ATTACHMENT FOR PBEAMBULATORS.

RAYMOND L. crank, or ROCHESTER, NEW YORK.
ATTACHMENT FoR ZPERAMBULATORS,
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 30, 1913.
To all 2071071?) it concern:
Be it known that I, RAYMOND L. CLARK, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Rochester, in the county of Monroe-and State of New York, have invented certain qwerambulator is ordinarily provided, and
for this purpose the attachment is provided with hubs to receive the axles of the vehicle, and with members connected with the hubs and so formed as to constitute sleigh-runners and rockers located on opposite sides of the hubs, these members being brought alternatively into operative position by reversing the position of the hubs upon the axles.
In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 is a side-elevation of aperambulator provided with attachments embodying the present invention; and Fig. 2 is a vertical section on the line 22 in Fig. 1, but on a larger scale, showing particularly the construction of one of the attachments.
The attachment of the present invention is adapted for use on any perambulator having the usual axles, and is illustrated as applied to a baby-carriage having the usual body 5 supported, through springs 6, upon two parallel axles 7.
The attachment, as illustrated in the drawings, comprises. hubs 13 adapted to receive the ends of the axles 7 and arms8 and 9 projecting downwardly and upwardly, respectively, from these hubs, the arms and hubs being cast integrally. The arms 8 are attached, at their lower ends, to a member 10 comprising a metal bar, T shaped in crosssection, which is straight through the greater part of its length so that it is adapted to act as a sleigh-runner. At the ends of the straight part the bar is curved upwardly, and is continuous with a longitudinal circularly-curved member 12, which is fixed to the ends of the upwardly-projecting arms 9. The parts 10,11 and 12 thus con- Stitiite a continuous O'VOiCl member of which one of the longer sides is straight and is adapted to act as a sleigh-runner, while the other of its longer sides is curved so thatit may serve as a rocker. It will be understood that a pair of such devices is used, located on opposite ends of the axles. The attachment is illustrated in a position in which the runner-portion 10 may be used, but when it is desired to use the rockerportion it is necessary merely to withdraw the hubs from the axles, turn the attachment end-for-end in a vertical plane and replace it upon the axles, thus reversing the hubs on the axles and bringing the rocker-member 12 into the lower position, while the runnermember 10 is raised to inoperative position.
As a convenient means for securing the at tachment upon the axles, the hubs 13 are shown as provided with perforations registering with perforations in the axles, removable pins 14 being seated in these perforations to hold the hubs against longitudinal movement.
While the formation of the runner and the rocker as a continuous ovoid member is preferable for the sake of strength and simplicity, this construction is not essential to the invention, and it will be understood that the invention is not, in general, limited to the embodiment thereof hereinbefore described, but that it may be embodied in various other forms within the nature of the invention as it is defined in the following claims.
I claim 1. An attachment for a perambulator comprising two hubs adapted to receive the ends of the axles of the perambulator, arms extending from the hubs, and a rocker and a sleigh-runner supported by the arms on opposite sides ofthe hubs, the hubs being reversible upon the axles so that the rocker and the runner may be brought alternatively into operative position.
2. An attachment for a perambulator comprising two hubs adapted to receive the ends of the axles of the vehicle, arms ex tending upwardly and downwardly from the hubs, and a continuous ovoid member supported by the arms and having one of its longer sides curved so as to constitute a rocker and its opposite side straight so as to constitute a sleigh-runner, the hubs being reversible on the axles to bring the rocker and the runner alternatively into operative gear of a perambulator with either the position. rocker or the sleigh-runner downwardly dis- 3. An attachment for a perambulator posed and in position for use. comprising a rocker and a sleigh-runner RAYMOND L. CLARK. 6 connected together and lying in the same WVitnesses:
