The nature of my invention consists in forming chambers or cells between the heads or ends of a large wheel, or on a cylinder, by connecting them at the periphery or ends of the arms by a bar or rod constructed with bosses or flanges, also the inside of the arms, thus forming a' rest or bearing for a frame upon which wire cloth or gratings are placed, on which the tobacco cutis spread inside for drying, as shown at A, Fig. 2, in the accompanying drawings, a door or lid of similar construction hung at or near the shaft or axle, as represented at B, Figs. 2 and 3, furnished with pins, hooks, or springs, so placed as to penetrate or rest on the tobacco to confine it when said door or lid is closed, forming the chambers or cells, and thereby preventing itschang' ing position when the wheelor cylinder is given a rotary or other motion, but calculated to receive and admit of a current or currents of airpassing freely through the said contents, as represented at 0, Figs. 2 and 3, the current or currents of air to be produced by a fan-wheel, blower, vacuity, or in any other way best calculated to dry the contents of said chambers or cells by being forced through the same, as represented at D, Fig. 2.
\Vhat I claim as my invention,'an.d desire to secure byLetters Patent, is-
