Nefit-'known that I, PHILIP M. HAAS, residing al Youngstown, in the county .of Mahoning and State of Ohio, a citizenaof 1S- covered certain new and useful Improvements' in Machines for Reducing the Section ofMetal Blanks, of whichimprovements the following is a specilication.

The object of my invention is to provide a machine for the purpose described, which construction, effec-tive in' and which will expedite andv reducing of such rods or tubes.' In the accompanying drawing, which forms part of my specification I have iliustrated the preferred embodiment' of my vinvention.- V.

Two -means are secured to the shaft 26 for rotating it inorder to move th carriage, such means consisting. of a hand wheel 27 and a worm wheel 28.. iThe worni wheel 28 is driven by a-.su itable-wormfgear 29 secured to 'a shaft 30, which inaybe driven through the belt wheel 31, belt 32 and belt wheel 33, secured to the-shaft 2. In order to move the'jworm gear 29 from-oper ative .engagement with the wheel 28,'-v the 'shaft 30 is pivotally mounted in a yoke 34; and, in order to support the freeend of' the shaft 30 in its alternate raised and lowered positions, `I `mount theouter end of. Said shaft in a casing 35, which in turn is mov-l ably secured to, ysupplemental frame 36 S- cured to thelni in frame -19 by means ofv 35 bybolts 37..
