To all whom it may concern lie it known that l, CHAnLns l/VnnLANs, a citizen of the United States, residing in Trenton, in the county of Mercer and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Urinals, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in urinals. v

The objects of the invention are to provide a structure in which the urinal stalls may be arranged in a battery, and the parts so constructed and arranged that no cementjoints are employed, which, in the present constructions, are objectionable, since these joints soon become dirty and unsanitary; to arrange the structure so that the same may be easily set up and thereby decrease the cost of installation; to so arrange and interlit all the parts, that when the parts are set in place, they form a self locked structure without the use of bolts or other similar devices; and to so arrange the parts that they will not be dislodged by either the sinking of the building in which the stalls are placed, or by warping of the parts, and thus preventing the formation of unsanitary joints and cracks.

in the drawings, 10, denote the main or body members of each urinal stall, the same being provided with an integrally formed receptor 11, having an outlet 12. Also formed integrally with the main or body member 10 is a splash rim having the vertical side portions 13 and the upper horizontal top portion 14. Each main orbody member 10 has also integrally formed therewith llat sides 15, the same being adapted to lie flat against each other when the stalls are placed adjacent each other. A plurality of horizontally disposed top shield members 16 are provided, each of the shield members being provided with a dovetail tongue 1'? at the rear end thereof, the same being adapted to fit in and be held in position by cooperating dovetail grooves 18 formed half in each of the adjacent sides of the main or body members 10. Each shield 16 at its front end is provided with a recess 19 on the under side thereof, and located in front of the front edges of the sides 15 of the stalls, and in which is adapted to be inserted a lug 20 formed integrally with a pilaster 21 at the upper end thereof. Each of the pilasters 21 is provided on its inner face with a recess 22 in which is adapted to closely lit a pair; of the front portions of two adjacent sides 15 of the. main or body members 10. Each pilaster is also preferably provided with a separating part or partition 23 of the usual form. The members 10 and the lower ends of the pilasters 21 are set below the floor level A in the usual manner, as indicated more particularly in Figs. 1 and 5. Each of the parts is formed of glazed earthenware and from the foregoing description, it will be seen that no joints are presented to eye, and that the parts are so arranged that when in position, all the members are mutually self locked.

In assembling or setting up the parts, the

main or body members 10,10 are first placed side by side and between each pair of members 10, 10 a shield 16 is placed, the same having its tongue 17 inserted from the rear into the groove 18 formed in the two adjacent sides 15 of the members 10, 10. After the shield 16 has been properly placed in position, a pilaster 21 is put in position by first inserting the lug 2O thereon in the recess 19 of the corresponding shield 16, after which the lower end of the pilaster is pushed inwardly until the front edges of the sides 15 are properly seated in the groove or recess 22 on the inner face of the pilaster. W hen the battery of stalls is placed against the wall. B and the tile flooring laid in the usual manner, it will be obvious that it will be impossible for any of the pilasters to be displaced, or for the shields 16 to be moved either bachwardly or forwardly, and furthermore, the members 10, 10 will be prevented from moving away from each other laterally, since the same are securely held in place in the grooves 22 of the pilasters 21.

l have described one form of a structure embodying my improvements, but it will be obvious that various changes and modifications may he made in the details thereof without departing 'from the spirit of the inyention, and all such changes and modiiications are contemplated as fairly all within the scope of the claims appended hereto,

I claim:

1. A battery of urinal stalls comprising, in combination: a plurality of body members, each provided with an integral top, receptor and sides, a plurality of pilssters, each of said pilasters extending from top to bottom of the body members and provided on its inner face with a groove in which are adapted to be seated the front edges of a. pair of adjacent sides of two body members, and a plurality of top shields, each of said top shields being: provided: with sin integ'rslly formed tongue thereon at its rear end, and each of the body members being provided with. an undercut, half-groove adapted to cooperate with the tongues of the shields and to prevent the letter from being raised out of positionsitter the stalls ere iii place, the hslf-groove of one body member being opposite and edjecent the corresponding holfigroovc of an adjacent body member when the stells are in position, each of said "top shields being provided with an enlarged recess at the front end and on the under side thereof, and each of pilssters having formed integrally therewith at its upper end it lug, the lugs of the pilssters being :idapted to be inserted in the recesses of the shields after the letter are in place,
