To'prevent in.jury to the motor mechanism and other operating parts, a safety device is provided which becomes operative when the vacuum in the ai-r reservoir reaches ,a predetermined point. In the presentinstance, I have shown one form of safety. device, which consists of a valve 43 located in the air reservoir and controlling a port 44 leading from the reservoir into the chamber 24. The valve 43 is shown as fast to a lever v45 pivoted at 46to a projection 47 on the,

I may prefer to make the safety device as back into thev reservoir, as byso doing a vconstantly or continuously operating motor mechanism of any kind may be used, but it is not desired to limit the invention in this respect, as I believe myself to be the first to provide a safety device which becomes effective when"the vacuum in the air reservoir reaches va predetermined point. Access to the valve 43 may be had through an opening 53 in the movable member 27 of the air reservoir, which opening is normally closed by a cover 54.
Claims.
1. In an apparatus of the character described, in combination, a-wind chest provided with separate chambers, a bellows having its stationary 'member lsecured to one side wall of said wind chest and provided with ports connecting said bellows with said chambers, valves controlling said ports, a'motor mechanism connected with said bellows to operate it, an air reservoir having its stationary member secured to the opposite side wall of said wind chest and Iprovided with -ports connecting said reservoir with said chambers, a valve within said air reservoir normally closing one of the ports in the stationary member of said reservoir, av lever carryingsaid valve, a sprinnnacting on said lever to normally hold the valve carried thereby in its closed position, and an adjustable 'device carried bythe movable member of said reservoir and coperating with said lever to open the valve carried by said vlever when the vacuum produced in the ai'r reservoir reaches a predeterminedvpoint, substantially as described.
2. In an apparatusl of the character described, in combination, a wind chest -provided with separate chambers, a bellows having its stationary member secured to one side wall of said wind chest and provided with ports connecting said bellows with said chambers, valves controlling said ports, a motor mechanism connected with said bellows to operate it, an air reservoir having its stationary member secured to the opposite side wall of said wind chest and provided with ports connecting said reservoir with said chambers, and a valve within said air reservoir normally closing `one of the ports in the stationary member ot' said reservoir and actuated by the movable member of said reservoir to open it and establish a circuit 'for the air through the said bellows and reservoir, substantially as described.

In an apparatus of the character described. in combination, a bellows, a -motor mechanism to operate it, an air reservoir in communication with said bellows and pro'- vided with a movable member, a wind chest having separate chambers connected with said bellows and reservoir and a valve within said reservoir controlling a circuit for the air fromthebellows through the wind chest into said reservoir and lnormally closed, said valve cooperating with the movable member of the said 'reservoir to be opened thereby tofestablish the circuit for the air, substantially as described.

In an apparatus of the clim-actor dehoodie? scribed, in combination, a bellows, an air reservoir in communication with said bellows and provided With a movablevmember, and a. valve controlling e circuit for the air from the bellows into the reservoir, said valve being closed when the vacuum Within the air reservoir is below at predetermined point and opened by the movable member of the reservoir when the said vacuum reaches said predetermined point.
5.. ln an apparatus of the character described, 'in combination, e bellowsy .1 continuously operating motor mechanism connected with said bellows to opera-te it, an air reservoir communicating with seid bellows for the production oi. @vacuum therein by said bellows, aV safety device' for said motor mechanism, and means whereby said device is rendered effective when a predetermined vacuum is produced in 'said reser- Voir., to cause the motor mechanism to effect a, circulation of air through said bellows and reservoir without substantially increasing said vacuum, for the purpose specified.
