IMPROVEMENT IN CABIN-TABLES.

To the lower end of lever d I attach asl much weight, lead or its equivalent, as may be found necessary .to secure .the constant level of' the center-board. I attach pivots f f, substantially as shown in fig. 3.

When itis desired to use the table in rough weather,

place the pivots f f into the slots y g, and unhasp the lever, and allow it to swing to its proper position. rI hus arranged the center-board a will maintain a constant level, however great may be the motion of the ship or vessel, and whatever is placed upon t-lie center-board a will remain perfectly secure, thus enabling seamen, even in the ronghest weather and times, to partake ot' their meals with ease and comfort not otherwise attainable. It has also all the advantages of the common tables now used.
