F. L. BAILEY.
DISPLAY RACK.
APPLICATION FILED JUNE 21, 1911.

COLUMBIA PLANOGRAPH Cm, WASHINGTON. 1), c4
FRANK L. BAILEY, OF LANCASTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE.
DISPLAY-RACK.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 24:, 1913.
Application filed June 21, 1911. Serial No. 634,518.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK L. BAILEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lancaster, in the county of Coos and State of New Hampshire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display- Racks, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in neck-tie display racks, and the object is to provide means for supporting the rack from the wall or shelf over the show cases.
The invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations of parts which will be hereinafter fully described and pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a view in side elevation; Fig. 2 is a view in front elevation; Fig. 3 is a bottom plan view of the clamp; and Fig. 4 is a detail sectional view of the clamp.
A, represents a shelf or support, to which arms 1, 1, are connected, and to which bars 2, 2, are connected by bolts 3, 3, two sets of bars being connected to each side of the arms 1, the bars being provided with elongated slots 4, whereby the bars can be adjusted vertically by means of the bolts 3.
A sectional block B is connected to the lower ends of the bars 2, two bars connected to each section. The inner faces of the block sections are provided with a groove 5, in which is received an extension 6 which is connected to the spring jaws 7. A bolt 8 passes through the sectional blocks B and securely holds the extension 6 of the spring jaws 7 the sectional block B and the spring jaws 7 forming a clamp for supporting the rack frame C.
The rack frame 0 is provided with two vertical bars 9, one of which is provided with a lug 10, which is received between the jaws 7 and held therebetween by means of the bolt 11 which passes through the jaws for drawing the jaws together when the nut 12 is screwed up.
Horizontal rods 13 are received in grooves 14: in the vertical bars 9, and are held therebetween by means of bolts 15. The neckties or other articles to be displayed are sup ported upon the horizontal rods, and the angle at which the frame is held with respect to the supporting members 1 is governed by means of the bolt 11 and nut 12-that is, the frame can be swung to an angle and held in such position by tightening the nut upon the bolt 11.
It was not my intention that the frame should be movable in its supporting clamp, but it may be advisable in some instances to permit of the rack frame being swung upon its supporting member.
The bars 2 are capable of vertical adjustment through the bolts 3 which connect the bars to the supporting arms 1, so that the rack frame C can be held at different elevations.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
In a display rack, the combination with asupport, of bars having elongated slots, a block pivotally connected to the bars, a rack removably supported by the block, means extending through the slots of the bars for connecting the bars to the support, said bars adapted to be adjusted with respect to the support through the elongated slots of the bars independently or together for changing the position of the block and rack.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature, in the presence of two witnesses.
FRANK L. BAILEY.
